    This week on Black on Black Cinema, the crew returns to discuss the 1991 film, "The People Under The Stairs," which is written and directed by Wes Craven. The film follows a young kid nicknamed "Fool," who gets pulled into working with two house burglars to rob the house of the landlords who own most of the crumbling homes in their neighborhood. Once inside the house, Fool discovers the landlords' bizarre secrets. The horror-comedy works to use its story as a way to deal with gentrification, race, capitalism, etc. Does it succeed in doing so?

This week we discuss the 1997 film "Miss Evers' Boys" starring Alfre Woodard and Laurence Fishburne. The film tells the story of the Tuskegee experiment, a U.S. Federal Government secret medical experiment on poor African American men in the years 1932–1972, designed to study the effects of untreated syphilis. The story is told from the perspective of the small town nurse Eunice Evers (Alfre Woodard) who is well aware of the lack of treatment but feels her role is to console the involved men, many of whom are her close friends.
