How To Shoot Better | Episode 685 Oct 08, 2021

Show notes

Rev Kenn Blanchard Shares Tips and Advice on Shooting

This week Kenn waxes poetically and ebonically on some thoughts on how you can survive a gun fight, shoot better by planning ahead for the “stuff” that can happen if you really have to use that thing. Keeping it real. Hoping you remember some of the tips and things he mentioned from your training. And maybe realizing you need more “real stuff” in your life and less BS. No matter if you shoot recreationally, competitively, professionally or one day defensively, “fast is fine but accuracy is final.”

Guns and Weed | episode 684 Sep 30, 2021

Show notes

Weed

Where are you on the smoking weed and gun ownership conversation / argument? If it is not your thing, you can skip this episode. This week I am just talking about guns and weed. I am not a consumer of marijuana but I learned some stuff I want to share with those that do. Under federal law, Americans are forced to choose between having a medical marijuana card or giving up their inalienable right to bear arms.

It’s a federal felony to own a gun and use marijuana. Moreover, using marijuana medically or recreationally automatically makes the purchase, ownership, and transfer of guns a high-level federal violation with penalties of up to $250,000 fines and ten years in federal prison.

The Importance of Training - Episode 682 Sep 17, 2021

Show notes

Safety

Always treat the gun as loaded.
Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
Always keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
Always keep the gun unloaded until you are ready to use it.
Never point the gun at anything you don't intend to destroy.
Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
Learn the mechanical and handling characteristics of the gun you are using.
Always use proper Ammunition.
Be sure the barrel is clear of obstructions before loading and shooting.
If your gun fails to fire when the trigger is pulled, hold your shooting position for several seconds; then with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, carefully unload the gun.
Don't rely on the gun's safety to keep it from firing.
Be aware of your surroundings when handling guns so you don't trip or lose your balance and accidentally point and/or fire the gun at anyone or anything.

Beware of the BS that is big in our community.
