INTRODUCING THE NEW FACE OF VIRTUAL GOODS TRADING The World Asset eXchange (WAX) will pave the way for a game-changing use of smart contracts. As a platform, WAX will be one of the most innovative applications of blockchain technology, extending its user base to a global audience of 1.8 billion gamers. WAX is a utility token coupled with a decentralized platform and will be used by all participants in the virtual item trading industry: listing and selling agents, item transfer agents, appraisers, affiliates and buyers and sellers . WAX has a multitude of uses, including safely transferring digital items between buyers and sellers, apportioning fees out to marketplace participants who facilitate transactions and a payment mechanism for settling trades. Developed by the founders of OPSkins, the world’s leading marketplace for online video game virtual items, WAX is designed to serve the existing 400+ million gamers who already collect, buy and sell virtual items. By decentralizing the isolated and regional marketplaces where virtual items are traded today, WAX fuels the growth in the $50 billion secondary market for video game virtual items. WAX utility tokens will enable 1.8 billion gamers worldwide to quickly and easily harness the power of a fully developed, highly complex virtual item ecosystem. Episode #96 Blockchain Students at Vanderbilt University! Sep 10, 2017
    Show notes

On today's show I am privileged to interview Dana Zhang a PhD student in computer science at Vanderbilt University right here in Nashville Tennessee. This highly intelligent young woman shares with us the path that brought her to blockchain tech and a bit about where she hopes to make an impact in our world. In the second half of the show I head over to the Vanderbilt University campus to the Department of electrical engineering and computer science. There I spend some time interviewing students to find out what they know (and don’t know) about Blockchain tech and of course Bitcoin. I felt fortunate that I got to speak with a young man by the name of Irfaan Khalid, the President of Vandy Hacks, Vanderbilt’s annual hackathon. This hackathon attracts over 400 students from around the world who will compete from October 20th – 22n this year, building cool projects to change the world. Ahh to be young again! Remember folks: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men and women to do nothing” – do something y’all and be proud of it!
