Beyond the To-Do List – Productivity for Work and Life

Beyond the To-Do List is a productivity podcast hosted by Erik Fisher. Each week, Erik sits down with experts, authors, and creatives to explore time management, habits, focus, deep work, work-life balance, mindset, and what it actually means to live and work well.

The show has featured guests like David Allen, James Clear, Cal Newport, Gretchen Rubin, Seth Godin, and Daniel Pink — covering everything from getting things done and morning routines to burnout, procrastination, creativity, digital minimalism, goal setting, and intentional living.

The premise is simple: productivity isn’t the point. It’s the means to a whole life.

Focus and Strategy: How to Do Less Better Through Strategic Sacrifice with John Richard Bell Feb 24, 2015
    Show notes

John Bell is a retired consumer packaged goods CEO and global strategy consultant to some of the world’s most respected blue-chip organizations. A prolific writer, John’s musings on strategy, leadership, and branding have appeared in various marketing journals and publications such as Fortune and Forbes. He has served as a director of several private, public, and not-for-profit organizations.

Do Less Better has its roots in John Bell’s early career. At that time, John and a young leadership team faced the daunting task of resurrecting a company with a broad product range and buckets of red ink. That team took a step few leaders do, setting aside their own egos and trimming the company down to a shadow of its former self. The business that remained grew rapidly because they concentrated on running it, and nothing else. The lesson-learned served him well throughout his career as a CEO and then consultant: smart sacrifice is the surprising secret to success.

Goal Setting: Permission to Dream and Overcoming Limiting Beliefs with Michael Hyatt Dec 08, 2014

Michael Hyatt returns to talk more about setting goals, barriers to dreaming, limiting beliefs and writing a new chapter in your story. Michael and Erik previously talked about setting goals in a previous episode, but a lot has happened since then.
