Michael Arevalo, Psy.D. earned his doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Marywood University in Scranton, PA. Born and raised in Southern CA, Michael wanted to explore human connections in other parts of the country. His education and training led him to practice in Northeast Pennsylvania, Coastal Virginia, rural North Carolina, and Silicon Valley.
Michael primarily works with adults and specializes in integrated behavioral health/health service psychology. This includes a wide range of health-related concerns such as diabetes, chronic pain, and sleep problems. He also specializes in depressive and trauma-related disorders. Michael has experience treating a broad spectrum of mental health concerns and disorders including depression, various types of anxiety, trauma, grief, ADHD, neurological disorders, psychosis, relationship issues, and anger management.
Michael describes his approach as person-centered. He believes that therapy is a partnership and strives to create a warm and comfortable environment for people to share their story and work together to facilitate their growth and improve their symptoms.
Michael is an avid coffee drinker and gym enthusiast. On most weekends, you will find him exploring new coffee shops and spending time in the gym. He also greatly enjoys spending time with family and friends, who know him best for his sense of humor. Among others, he is most known for his smile and empathetic nature. He is genuine in all of his interactions and relationships because he believes this is how we can establish deeper connections.
