    The Blues Jul 12, 2015
    Show notes

The blues is probably the most recognizable modern music we know. It is conceived in suffering, in pain, in loss of hope. Rev. Kim Dorr-Tilley opens the Scriptures to illuminate the antidote to the blues. When we share our blues, we gain healing in the sharing of the suffering. Having Christ, who suffered more than we can imagine, gives us a brother-Lord. He knows our pain and because of that, only He can bring us perfect healing. We are never alone in our blues. It is shared with the blues' Almighty Healer.

Feel Good Songs - Audio Jul 05, 2015
    Show notes

Dr. Sams opens the Psalms once again to remind us how Christ wants to show us a clear picture of the joy He is. He wants to bring us festival joy. His joy does not run out. There is no hangover, nor indigestion, nor fatigue from the indulgence in too much joy. His is endless, for it is His essence. He is joy. With His indwelling in our hearts, we have joy. We need only remember that it is there.

    Arena Anthems Jun 21, 2015
    Show notes

Psalm 150 is like an Arena Anthem... those songs we recognize instantly, as if they were somehow an integral part of our lives. Psalm 150 declares that God is an end unto Himself, self-justifying in all He does. Not only is God useful to us in our lives, providing for us, answering prayers for us, He is intrinsically valuable, and simply enjoying His company has an unmeasurable effect on our hearts. Christ's work on the cross gives us access to an all-good, all-loving, all-powerful God. Simply being with Him is the greatest good we will ever find. And that demands declaration in an Arena Anthem.

Playlist - Introducing the Psalms Jun 14, 2015
    Show notes

We can only guess what a Psalm would have sounded like; the Psalms' music is lost to history. But knowing there was music to each Psalm, we can apply to the Psalms a universal truth about music. Like music, the Psalms are a reflection of our mood and experiences. Dr. Sams' introductory sermon for this series reminds us that God has given us His Word, and it is useful to remind us that for every struggle and every joy, relevant truth can be found in the book of Psalms. By this we know God more than understands our lives, He is worthy to be Lord of them.
