Countess Lu: A Review / VanderQueens Apr 10, 2020

Back in a simpler time, David used to roam the NYC streets doing the “lords work”. With the new season of Vanderpump Rules back, he was lucky enough to have both of Pump’s Queens in NYC, Kirsten Doute (Queen 1) and Scheana Shay (Queen 2), back to back. Two days later, David runs into, who else, The Singer Stinger (NYC’s Upper East Side is really smaller than you think). With the new season of #RHONY back in full swing, David figured it was a good time to recount the end of last years’ Countess & Friends shows and all the guest appearances - Teresa Giudice, The Gorgas, Margaret Josephs, Marge Sr., Aydin - that went along with them.

A few months after The Real Housewives of Orange County finale, with production on the new season halted until further notice (thank you Corona), David checks in with the 100th Housewife, RHOC's Peggy Sulahian. From her early days in the OC, to her car loving husband Diko (Peggy is a Ferrari girl), to her double mastectomy, learn more about the real woman behind the facade of what the audience saw on Bravo. Of course, the conversation quickly turns to all things RHOC. In honor of the return of #RHONY, David is finally ready to talk about his new Upper East Side life, or for those of you who aren’t familiar with New York City, ground zero for Housewives. Front and center, of course, is the Regency, David’s new regular watering hole. Re-introduced to the regency by the and only Laurie Cooper, yup Dorinda’s Realtor, David was thrilled to run into Harry Dubin on his second visit (the two shortly thereafter became and remain IRL BFFS - who would have ever predicted this). Although a nightly regular on the UES, David isn’t moving any time soon. He’s excited to, its about time, see downtown NYC properly represented on the #RHONY franchise, Leah McSweeney (she knows Peter F’in Gatien) as I have told you recently, heart you!!! (Listener Appeciation @jessheller re-joins David Behind The Rope)

RHONY's Harry Dubin (The Man, The Myth, The Legend) Apr 01, 2020

On the heels of the season 12 premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City, the man, the myth, the legend, Harry Dubin, steps Behind The Rope. Harry chats about, what else other than his real life, shall we say, “experiences” with the women behind #RHONY. Harry takes us back to his first, housewife that is, Miss Sonja Tremont. After a chance meeting at a bar in DC, with only a first name, Harry tracks down Sonja after hitting up no less than 10 hotels, for the beginning of a several decade on again, off again, “relationship”. Once on the New York scene, Harry set his sights in another direction, a leggy blonde he met on the Upper East Side, Aviva Drescher. When his marriage to Aviva ended, he spent his time passing the days with Sonja, who was now Sonja Morgan, soon to be of #RHONY. Through Sonja, he met Luann, who he said knew what she wanted, him, and got it. There was also Kelly Bensimon, yup her too and Ramona, who he describes as a great kisser. Dorinda thew a shoe at Harry at The Regency and then there is Tinsley, oh Tinsley. Of course, no Big Apple sit down would be complete without Bethenny, Jill & Heather. Finally, Harry is more than eager to play a NSFW version of who would you rather #RHONY edition.

MTV's Rich Girls' Jaime Gleicher (Steps Behind The Rope) Mar 25, 2020

One of the pioneers of reality television, Jaime Gleicher, joins us Behind The Rope. Before there was Jax & Brit, Stassi & Beau, there was Ally (Hilfiger - yes daughter of Tommy) & Jaime, stars of the MTV reality Mega Hit, Rich Girls, which followed the lives of two wealthy New York City girls as they completed their final semester of high school before entering college and adulthood. Jaime, who is currently writing a book on her life, reflects upon her time on the show and what being thrust into the spotlight at a young age entailed. Jaime humors David in discussing the other reality juggernauts at the time Rich Girls began - The Osbournes, Newlyweds and Queer Eye. On a more serious note, Jaime is forthcoming about her real life struggles with an eating disorder and depression, which she hid from production during the filming of Rich Girls. These two dive into how Rich Girls came about, filming, editing, production and the promotion of the show. Jaime, now 35 and a Psychotherapist (a Barnard graduate, smarty pants), discusses the potential pitfalls of fame at an early age and how she "came out the other side". RHONJ EP Dorothy Toran - Thank You & Goodbye! Mar 18, 2020

On the heels of her departure announcement from the franchise, David sits down with Real Housewives Of New Jersey's Executive Producer Dorothy Toran. From her beginnings in Liberia, Africa, to growing up in New York, to her career before #RHONJ (Oprah, The Obamas and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson), David and Dorothy cover it all. Obviously all roads lead to Bravo and for Dorothy that meant Manzo'd with Children, her entree into the network. When that show came to an end, Dorothy was called in to helm the reigns of #RHONJ in a pivotal season of helping welcome Teresa home. David gets most of his "fangirl" questions answered (you can't force an EP to answer anything she doesn't want to) before signing off. Thank you Dorothy for making some amazing, salacious, entertaining, heartwarming, juicy, over the top, real, poignant, relevant, captivating TV. Best of luck in your future endeavors!!
