JASON WAHLER (on The Hills, Laguna Beach, Real vs Fake & the Injustices of Reality TV) Aug 20, 2023

Show notes

With everything going on with Bethenny Frankel’s lawsuit regarding the injustices of Reality TV, real vs fake, contracts and much more, we figured it was a great time to share this chat with one of the originals, Jason Wahler from Laguna Beach, The Hills and The Hills: New Beginnings. Of course, Jason takes us back to the beginning when he was just a high school student whose friends - Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari, Stephen Colletti, and Lo Bosworth - were cast on a TV show about their high school, otherwise known as Laguna Beach High. We discuss how Jason got involved in the show, how that show, Laguna Beach, spun off into The Hills and how, overnight, he could no longer go to the gas station or mall or mailbox without being recognized. With fame, the issues he was already struggling with became exacerbated, and he quickly spiraled out of control. There were public arrests and intoxication which eventually lead to rock bottom. Jason shares what that was like and how he eventually sought the help he needed through Dr Drew and other available resources to eventually make this his “life’s work”. Jason answers all of our questions, once and for all, about what specific scenes, events and happenings in The Hills were real and which were not real. We cover it all. So interesting to see how this chat holds up in light of everything going on with Bravo, Production, Bethenny and Andy Cohen today.

Show notes

The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Courtney Rhodes steps back Behind The Rope. With this epic Season 15 well underway, the reunion recently filmed and plenty of drama still to come, Courtney is here to mention it all. After a rocky start with Kandi, one thing became clear early on this season, Courtney speaks her truth, does not mince words and has no fear going up against an RHOA staple like Ms. Burruss. LEEANNE LOCKEN (on RHOD, Cast Mate Feuds, Andy Cohen, Her Exit & Life As a Carny) II Aug 13, 2023

Show notes

LeeAnne Locken steps back Behind The Rope. I recently read an article that ranked the top Real Housewives’ Premieres of all time. The Premiere of The Real Housewives of Dallas was ranked high. In the article it explained one reason why and that reason was named LeeAnne Locken. It made me reminisce and want to share this epic chat with LeeAnne right after she parted ways with the franchise. Read between the lines, nothing was held back. Grape Kool-Aid and Vodka in hand, this Dallas Diva mentions it all from growing up as a carny to the real deal behind the scenes on RHOD to cast mate feuds, break ups, make ups and more. Part II starts now.
