Be Here For A While — Comedy
Be Here For A While

Rachael O’Brien is a stand-up comedian/actress who has performed in 9 countries all over the world doing stand-up. Her self deprecating humor is at the center of the weekly show. On each episode, Rachael dissects the comedic moments in the lives and careers of her friends and notable entertainment industry personalities. She enjoys interviewing talent about their personal struggles and successes, learning more about tips and tricks on how to live a happy and successful life, diving into (and sarcastically analyzing) dating and relationships, and through all this, she loves giving her listeners weekly inspiration to reach their goals — or at the very least give them some laughs to get them through their day. O’Brien’s flourishing comedy career includes doing stand up worldwide in the most prominent comedy clubs and sharing the stage all-star comics including David Spade, Ali Wong, Bill Burr, Whitney Cummings and Judd Apatow, to name a few! You can also follow and listen to her two other podcasts that delve into the world of True Crime, “Deadly Diocese” which is the active investigation into the mysterious death of a Catholic priest, just days before he was about to expose the Diocese of Buffalo for their sins….and then…. “Seven Deadly Sinners” which runs the gamut of cult leaders, to false preachers, to murderers all hiding under the false pretense of saints when they are masking their sinful lives.

197: The Worst Reality Show You've Never Heard Of Feb 07, 2020

Show notes

This is the first episode of an ongoing series Rachael is doing called "Reality Show Scandals and Tragedies" and there's no better way to start than with a show that was canceled after 5 episodes but is so painfully condescending to the women in it, that it should have never made it to air. The show was called "8 Minutes" on A & E and features Pastor Kevin's attempt to save women from the streets. However, his attempt often goes no further than just giving them the national hotline for sex trafficking even after they bared their souls on TV and were promised "resources" from Pastor Kevin and the network to help them. Greg Hunter is here to help Rachael dissect the absurdity of this show and shine light on the fact that these women deserved so much more.
Much of the research came from these two articles:
https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/arianelange/8-minutes-trafficking-victim-adviser-says-producers-ignored by Ariane Lange
https://reason.com/2015/05/06/ae-pulls-8-minutes-sex-work-show/ by Elizabeth Nolan Brown

195: Deep Dive: The Perverse World of Jeffrey Epstein w Diana Espir Jan 24, 2020

Show notes

To quote a recent Vanity Fair article about Epstein. 'Epstein liked having secrets and enjoyed the way those secrets kept people off-balance. “He always wanted to give the impression that he was an international man of mystery—‘I control everyone and everything, I collect people, I own people, I can damage people,’ ” says an ex-girlfriend.' But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Epstein was the mastermind behind a sex-trafficking ring of underage girls that crossed state and country lines and included a web of powerful people including a member of the royal family, politicians, professors etc. who either participated or simply turned a blind eye. One of them being is longtime girlfriend/friend Ghislaine Maxwell, who young women have alleged that Ghislaine was both part of the sex-trafficking ring, bringing underage girls to Epstein, and a sexual participant. The victims are survivors and they deserve their story told so please listen and also do your own research and talk to your friends and family about this important issue.
