    Episode 447: Picking A Lane Jul 22, 2026
    Show notes

Episode 447: The Trade Deadline is quickly approaching, and it’s time for teams to start making decisions on who is staying and who is going.

Jared, Tyler, and Jay Hay break down the major pieces rumored to be on the move this trade deadline, including Tarik Skubal, Mason Miller, Jeremy Peña, and more. The guys discuss who should buy, who should sell, and what a realistic trade package for a player like Tarik Skubal would look like.

The Blue Jays’ puzzling season has the crew wondering whether the team that was one out away from the World Series last year should start moving pieces for the future. Meanwhile, the Boston Red Sox are on the verge of tying and breaking their franchise record for wins in a row. Jared and Tyler reflect on the ride and share their feelings heading into a doubleheader.

Jared learns about the grittiest player in baseball, and Max Fried’s return to the Bronx mound leads the guys to discuss how the Yankees can shore up their roster for another postseason run.

Tune in again on Friday for a loaded BID including Family Feud, Blowing This Guy’s Horn, and more!

    Episode 446: Judge-Sized Hole Jul 20, 2026
    Show notes

Episode 446: The second half of the MLB season is officially underway. Winning streaks aplenty are coming out of theAll-Star break, highlighted by the Red Sox pushing their streak to 13 games in a row while seemingly making a push for Athletics star catcher Shea Langeliers.

The guys recap every series since the break — from Pirates-Guardians toNationals-A’s and Dodgers-Yankees. They chat about every team and dive deep into the American League East. The injury to Yankees captain Aaron Judge has gripped the Yankees’ offense. Dallas asks whether it’s possible we don’t see Judge return this season and what that could mean for the Bronx Bombers.

Jared discusses the disappointing season the defending American League champions, the Toronto Blue Jays, are having, as well as a pair of young pitchers who recently signed long-term extensions with their clubs.

    Episode 445: Walk-Off Walker Jul 15, 2026
    Show notes

Episode 445: All-Star Festivities lit up Philadelphia and gave us potentially one of the best Home Run Derbies of all time. The new rules and format changes are put under the microscope as Jared, Tyler, Jay Hay, and Dallas share their love for the updates and the improvements to Netflix’s presentation.

The American League’s 4-0 victory over the National League turned out to be a surprising snoozer of an All-Star Game. Cody Bellinger took home MVP honors, but not before Dallas made his case for the only player who reached base twice in the game: Shea Langeliers.

The guys also break down a story that dropped in The Athletic involving a frequent listener of the show, along with their first-half MVP and Cy Young winners. Tap in for Jay Hay’s Hot Fresh Award-Winning nugs, and tune in Friday for BID Feud and a full look around every division in baseball at the conclusion of the first half of the season.

    Show notes

Episode 444: Welcome to the start of the 2026 All-Star Break. It’s been a long and winding road for every team, but who or what has been the biggest surprise from the first half of the season? The guys discuss plenty of surprises, including the Chicago White Sox in a prime playoff position despite low preseason odds and the Pittsburgh Pirates boasting the second-best offense in baseball.

Jared and the guys share their Home Run Derby selections before Jared heads to Media Day in Philadelphia. Jay Hay, Dallas, and Tyler stick around to talk about how sweep-happy the league was in its final series before the break. They also chat about the draft that took place this weekend. Check out our interviews with three of the top four picks from this year’s draft on the Baseball Is Dead YouTube page!

    Episode 443: Platinum Player Jul 10, 2026
    Show notes

Episode 443: Dallas, Jay Hay, Jared, and Tyler react to a loaded week of news in the baseball world. Surefire Hall of Famer Justin Verlander has announced his retirement at the end of the 2026 season. Dallas reflects on one of the greatest pitchers he ever shared the diamond with, what Verlander’s career means, and the end of a bygone era for starting pitchers.

Jared Jones became the latest pitcher to be pulled in the midst of a perfect game. Jared and Jay Hay dive deep into why they believe it was the right decision for both the Pirates and the Marlins. Yankees announcer Michael Kay found himself in hot water after reporting that Anthony Volpe would not be moving positions.

The wait is over, BID Family Feud is back with another special guest rounding out the four-person battle, and the platinum player, Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson, joins the show to catch up with the crew and talk about the Home Run Derby.

Episode 441: Pulled In Perfection Jul 06, 2026
    Show notes

Episode 441: Coming off America’s 250th birthday, the crew talks about an eventful weekend of baseball and touches on every series.

Our guy Dallas, a man who has thrown his own perfect game, had a front-row seat for Eury Pérez’s seven perfect innings. Unfortunately for baseball, seven innings is all Pérez would get, and the guys go deep into the dynamics of pulling a pitcher in the middle of a perfect game.

Jared lights a candle and bids farewell to several umpires who are retiring at the end of the 2026 season, including statistically the worst umpire in baseball.

Episode 440: The Feud is back! Baseball Is Dead's Feud returns for another 2 vs. 2 battle, with a special guest joining the program to see if they can keep the guest's undefeated streak alive.

Before the feud, the guys discuss the struggles of superstar Paul Skenes. Jay Hay and Dallas dive deep into the numbers on Skenes' pitches and break down the miraculous performance of Dansby Swanson.

Swanson's rise from potential worst player in baseball to the best offensive player in recent weeks has baffled the guys and couldn't have come at a better time for the Chicago Cubs. The show wraps up with a fantastic interview with Guardians pitcher Joey Cantillo, who talks about his Hawaiian roots, the at-bats that have stuck with him, and the mindset of being part of a large prospect-haul trade.

    Episode 439: Flying Fish Jul 01, 2026
    Show notes

Episode 439: The calendar page has turned again, and the Miami Marlins are hoping their strong June form carries into July. The fighting fish dominated the month and put up the best month in franchise history. The guys react to their dominance and start asking whether the Marlins should be taken seriously as playoff contenders.

The benches cleared again at Fenway Park, with Willson Contreras once again finding himself in the middle of a heated moment. Cade Cavalli’s quotes after the fiery punch-out only inflamed the situation, and Dallas continues to advocate for his long-held belief that these guys should be allowed to duke it out hockey style.

Regression has finally caught up with Cam Schlittler—to the delight of Jared—and the Home Run Derby has found its first participant. The guys discuss whether the Derby is starting to go the way of the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. And finally, the crew shows some love to players across the league who have caught their eye over the past week.
