    Episode 474: 40/40 Sep 25, 2026
    Show notes

Episode 474: The end of the regular season is almost upon us.

Lock in for a postseason loaded with live streams and podcasts from Baseball Is Dead. The clinch parties continue in search of the postseason, with the best coming from Chicago. Munetaka Murakami’s celebration made waves on the internet, but JayHay isn’t buying what the White Sox are selling.

The Guardians clinch their postseason berth, and JayHay slams his division rivals while getting excited for a new era of Guardians pitching heading into the postseason. Alex Bregman’s return just three days after facial fractures stuns the group, and the Justin Verlander vs. Max Scherzer forever war takes another turn.

Pitching wiz Lance Brozdowski joins the show and dives deep with Dallas on pitching and the new trend the Marlins are starting: starting pitchers throwing in games between starts. Nerd out with the guys and hear what the future of starting pitching could look like.

Lastly, Pete Crow-Armstrong adds another notch on his MVP résumé by stealing his 40th bag and joining the 40/40 club. His achievement on the same day the Cubs clinched their playoff berth puts a cherry on top of what could be the greatest season in franchise history.

    Episode 473: Chris Sale's Resurgence Sep 23, 2026
    Show notes

Episode 473: A star-studded episode of Baseball Is Dead is on tap for Wednesday.

All-Star, Cy Young winner, and future Hall of Famer Chris Sale joins the show to talk about his resurgence with the Atlanta Braves. Jared asks him the question every Red Sox fan wants posed to their former World Series champion, and Dallas gets Sale into the Hot Tub Time Machine for his baseball moment.

The guys crown the Tampa Bay Rays kings of the American League East after they clinch the division in the Bronx. Jared argues this isn’t a typical Rays team—their brand of baseball has been exciting to watch.

JayHay surprises the guys by bringing ESPN’s Jeff Passan onto the program for his return to BID Feud. Passan calls for a specific teammate and delivers the most exciting, closest game of Feud ever.

    Episode 472: Clinch Week Sep 21, 2026
    Show notes

Episode 472: It’s make-or-break time for playoff hopefuls across the league.

The final week of the regular season means clinch celebrations and playoff matchups being set. The Atlanta Braves begin clinch week by winning the NL East with some comfort despite a ton of adversity.

The clinching continues as the Boston Red Sox lock up their postseason spot. Dallas praises the roller-coaster season the Sox had and Craig Breslow. The Milwaukee Brewers lock up the best record in franchise history by winning their 98th game. But JayHay asks the question on everyone’s mind as they enter the postseason: How will this be different from last year?

The guys send their thoughts and prayers to Alex Bregman, who got hit in the face with a foul ball over the weekend, and discuss the chances we see New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge playing postseason ball.

They wrap up with some award-winning nugs and a reminder of the playoff content schedule coming in October.

Episode 470: Your wait is over!

Listen to the top of the podcast to get an idea of what our podcast and stream schedule will look like in October. There won’t be a shortage of content — we can guarantee you that.

They dig into Pete Alonso’s curtain call in his return to Queens, where the slugger hit his 300th career home run. They also react to the Brewers clinching the NL Central, and JayHay lays the smack down on anyone who thinks Junior Caminero is the AL MVP.

    Show notes

Episode 468: On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the guys start off by remembering those affected by the terrorist attack and the healing role baseball played in getting the country back on its feet.

Before Dallas departs, he begins the horn blowin’ that JayHay, Jared, and Tyler continue throughout the episode. Whenever Jeff Passan dips his quill, it is a must-read. Today was no different, as he pens some early thoughts on free agency that everyone reacts to, including the astronomical numbers ace Tarik Skubal may be in line to receive.

The gang continues their conversation on free agency by trying to determine who the second-best free agent in the class is and tackling one of the most difficult questions of the offseason: should Bo Bichette opt out?
