Episode 34-What Feelings of Rejection Tell Us Jun 12, 2018
    Show notes

In this episode, we finish our review of the book Victory Over the Darkness, by Neil T. Anderson. For more information visit www.axispodcast.com Thoughts and feelings of rejection that often plague us can be major deterrents to our maturity in Christ. Apart from Christ, we all learned early in life to respond to rejection by taking one of three defensive postures. First is beat the system (can be anything from family church society, in general,) this person beats the system and learns to compete to get ahead and become the significant other. Eventually result in more rejection because the ability to perform eventually diminishes The emotional effects of beating the system includes: the inability to express feelings, emotional insulation perfectionism, worries. Attitudes in reactions toward God for this person refuses to come under the authority of God and have little real fellowship with God. The second defensive posture is to give into the system. This person continues to satisfy others but begins to believe that he or she is rejectable and unlovable. The emotional results of someone who gives into the system are feelings of worthlessness and inferiority, subjectivity, introspection, and self-condemnation. The attitudes are reactions toward God for someone who gives into the system or projects their earthly Father's behavior onto God and unable to trust God. Third defensive posture is rebelling against system. This person fights the system and says "I don’t need or want your love," and often behaves or dresses in an objectionable way. This results in more rejection because a rebel causes others to be more defensive of the system the rebel rejects, emotional results are wishing he or she had never been born, undisciplined, irresponsibility, self-hatred and bitterness. Attitudes and reactions toward God —they view God as a tyrant and rebel against him.

Episode 33-The Power in Believing the Truth Jun 04, 2018
    Show notes

The Power of Believing the Truth In this episode, we cover the next four chapters of the book Victory Over the Darkness. The only limit to your faith is your knowledge and understanding of God. Really believing will affect your walk and your talk. We are not called to just think positive thoughts, we are called to think the truth. Without God as the object of our faith, thinking positive is merely a function of the mind that cannot exceed its input and attributes. Positive thinking without the truth of God’s Word means it’s all in our own strength and none of us is that strong. You can’t control all your circumstances and relationships. You can control the inner world of your thoughts and emotions by daily allowing the peace of God to rule in your heart. If what we think does not reflect the truth, then what we feel does not reflect reality. Connect with us! @elsimms @4titude_fitness @annalight09 www.axispodcast.com

    Show notes

AXISPODCAST: Encouraging you to fight for your mind, your body, and your soul. In this episode, we interview special guest Lindsay Amilian. Lindsey is a former Oklahoma City Thunder Girl and currently, a wife, a dance fitness instructor, trainer, certified holistic nutritionist a mommy to her 3-year-old boy with a new baby on the way, but most importantly a child of the risen King Jesus. She says dance fitness is more than a passion of mine, it's a part of who I am and I love seeing my class members mirror this passion as I watch them transform by building self-confidence and a healthy body image. I'm also an avid researcher and investigator when it comes to nutrition and living out a pure, holistic lifestyle. After battling with stomach issues and inflammation, which turned out to be "leaky gut syndrome" and then led to "adrenal fatigue syndrome"...I had to learn how to heal my gut and start eating in a way that aided my body to restoration. Through this journey, I have tried and tested what it means to eliminate toxins, harmful chemicals and detrimental ingredients from my daily diet and lifestyle. My program "Pure Sweat Project" is a direct reflection of the things I've learned, the failures I've overcome and the successes I've come to humbly rejoice. Teaching has become an avenue that sets my heart on fire to help educate, motivate and inspire others to transform their lives as well.
