Domain, compliance, performance, legacy considerations, and business forces all play a big role in shaping the architecture of your solutions. While there are many strategies for implementing SaaS on AWS, there are some common architectural patterns that are used to address the varying needs of SaaS providers. In this session, we review in detail a collection of SaaS reference architectures that represent a spectrum of approaches to addressing identity, onboarding, storage partitioning, tenant isolation, billing, deployment, regional distribution, and operational models. Our goal is to provide a menu of concrete solutions that can provide insights into how AWS constructs are leveraged to realize SaaS best practices on AWS.

GPSTEC306: PrivateLink for Partners: Connectivity, Scale, Security Dec 01, 2018
    Show notes

In this session, we review how technology and consulting partners can utilize AWS PrivateLink, a networking service that allows for a service behind a load balancer to be privately placed into other VPCs as well as on-premises. You can use PrivateLink to help scale a SaaS service, simplify microservices, simplify the network connectivity of managed service providers, and create a more secure environment for partner products inside customer VPCs. In this session, we focus on the design and service architecture requirements as well as the business considerations for implementing PrivateLink for your product or service. We also hear from APN Partner, Snowflake, and its customer, ARC, about how they deployed PrivateLink.

GPSTEC308: Making Hybrid Work for You: Getting into the Cloud Fast Dec 01, 2018
    Show notes

Everywhere there is talk of modernization, containers, Kubernetes, and 900K containerized applications on Docker Hub. Yet only 35% of container workloads are in production. In this session, we explore why so many modernization journeys fail to move from the proof of concept or evaluation phase into production, and how application platforms are helping customers succeed. We explore how application platforms are mitigating the complexities and pitfalls, and how they assist enterprise customers not only in modernizing workloads but building hybrid application workloads and accelerating cloud adoption.
