CMP204: How to Effectively Plan for Disaster Recovery on AWS Dec 01, 2018
    Show notes

Although the AWS Cloud provides a new level of durability and resiliency, no workload is immune to disasters-be it due to accidental reasons or malicious intent. Even in the cloud, you have to ensure continuity. Traditional disaster recovery (DR) solutions are not optimized for the cloud and often result in higher costs, increased complexity, and operational challenges. To maintain compliance and business continuity service-level agreements, AWS DR planning requires a completely different approach to deal with cross-account, cross-region workload testing and failover. In this session, learn how you can set up an effective DR plan for your AWS environments. This session is brought to you by AWS partner, Druva.

CMP205: Digital Transformation: Leveraging AWS as a Launchpad Dec 01, 2018
    Show notes

Learn how DXC helped a Fortune 1000 client drive digital transformation with AWS. An APN Premier Consulting Partner, DXC illustrates through customer testimonials, use cases, and architectures how enterprise clients have transformed their business with the AWS Cloud. This session is brought to you by AWS partner, DXC Technology.

    Show notes

Amazon EC2 provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud and makes web-scale computing easier for customers. It offers a wide variety of compute instances well suited to every imaginable use case, from static websites to high-performance supercomputing on-demand, all available through highly flexible pricing options. This session covers the latest Amazon EC2 features and capabilities, including new instance families available in Amazon EC2, the differences among their hardware types and capabilities, and their optimal use cases. We also cover some best practices on how you can optimize your expenditure on Amazon EC2 to make the most of your EC2 instances, saving time and money.

    CMP209: Amazon EC2 T Instances - Burstable, Cost-Effective Performance Dec 01, 2018
    Show notes

In this session, you will learn how to utilize low cost T2 and T3 instances while still having access to sustainable high performance when needed. Designed for applications with variable CPU usage that experience occasional spikes in demand, T instances enable customers' applications to burst seamlessly to meet temporary traffic peaks and then scale back down to operate at typical traffic levels. The next generation T3 instances provide up to 30% better price performance over T2 instances and include unlimited bursting by default, making it a cost-effective choice for general-purpose computing.

CMP301: Backing Up Amazon EC2 with Amazon EBS Snapshots Dec 01, 2018
