Host Adam Burke was back in The Bettor’s Box for the best KBO betting podcast in the industry. On this May 14 edition, Adam took a survey of what we’ve seen from the 10 bullpens across the league so far during the Beyond the Box Score segment and gave some of his thoughts and observations on the re-juiced baseball and foreign pitchers. He then recapped all five series from last week, with some tips that will help going forward and some long-term positions that he’s developing on teams.
The Down the Lines segment featured some analysis of the betting markets as a whole, including the adjustments to totals and the importance of shopping around for the best odds. Finally, he previewed the weekend ahead with some things to watch for and some potential bets for Lotte vs. Hanwha, NC vs. SK, Doosan vs. Kia, Samsung vs. KT, and Kiwoom vs. LG.

Brian Blessing joined host Adam Burke to chat about all sorts of different things. They chatted about the release of the NFL schedule and the impact it had on some win totals and division pictures. They also chatted about the return of NASCAR at Darlington Raceway for this week’s Darlington 400 and how they’ll look to approach that event from a betting standpoint.
The TaylorMade Driving Relief skins game with Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson vs. Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff is this weekend at Seminole Golf Club in Florida, so the guys hit on that and then also talked about horse tracks around the country opening up and some tips for betting at those different venues. The guys covered a lot, but that’s how it always goes on this show.

Adam spent some time going over the stats that he compiled for the relievers in the KBO and broke it down on a team-by-team level with his analysis of the stats to really focus on. Host Adam Burke is diving headfirst into a foreign betting market, literally and figuratively. The KBO is not new by any means, but it is a sport that Adam has not handicapped before. With MLB still dark and not much else going on, why not give betting on the KBO a try? On this edition of The Bettor’s Box, Adam handicapped the five Opening Day games on May 5 and also talked about how he is going to approach the games.
Adam has spent the last couple of editions of The Bettor’s Box sharing stats and information with listeners about the players and about the numbers and metrics that seem to matter a lot in the KBO. Now we can put those to practice with the first round of games and see how things play out. Adam passed on some rankings of bullpens and team defenses and highlighted the best place to bet on KBO games on today’s show.

He circled back to a listener question about betting on baseball with the same information that the sportsbooks have by shedding some more light on the process of bookmaking and why it differs so much from what we do with handicapping and betting. It was a great breakdown for those that wonder how the industry works.
Then Adam launched into something that is also uncharted territory for him, but will be of great interest moving forward. Adam took a look at the KBO with the season starting up on May 5 to talk about some potential betting opportunities in that league. He highlighted the importance of following MLB or minor league players and also talked about some of the stats that seem to matter when handicapping that league.

On this April 28 show, Adam and Brian went back over the 2020 NFL Draft and some of their thoughts on the winners and the losers and how the betting markets have responded.
We’ve got a huge Saturday on tap at Oaklawn Park down in Arkansas with the Arkansas Derby x2 on Saturday. Two divisions are required with so many trainers eager to race their three-year-olds in this Kentucky Derby prep. Adam and Brian broke down both divisions for this Grade 1 race and talked about their picks and how to handicap the Saturday slate.

Some listener questions came in that led to a good discussion about being organized as a bettor with what could be a very busy fall on the horizon. Adam also shared some beer and bourbon recommendations per listener request.
A listener question regarding last season’s juiced baseball and its impact on regression analysis handicapping was a good one. Adam talked about the statistical outliers for both starters and relievers last year and how they did a number on his handicapping. He also addressed what last year’s outliers mean going forward and why it could be really tough to get started with betting on baseball this season.

On the Friday April 24 edition of BangTheBook Radio, host Adam Burke and professional handicapper John Ryan gave their assessments of the first round of the NFL Draft. They talked about winners and losers and what it means for the betting odds and the perceptions of these teams heading into the new season, assuming we get one.
After talking about which teams did well and which teams did poorly, the guys looked at some prop bets for tonight’s two rounds, as they looked at the next wide receiver off the board, where D’Andre Swift will go, and looked at the draft possibilities for guys like Jalen Hurts and Jacob Eason.
