Host Adam Burke and professional bettor and handicapper Kyle Hunter got together for their usual Monday show here on ATS Radio. They actually started on the baseball side of things by discussing the MLB playoffs to kick things off. They talked about how profitable underdogs have been and also discussed how these handicaps change from what we normally see during the regular season.
With college football, Adam and Kyle went through box scores and interesting stats to find some regression to the mean opportunities. They also looked at some games, including highlight videos for Baylor vs. West Virginia and Oklahoma vs. Iowa State. On the NFL side, they talked about the totals market and then looked deeper into Seahawks vs. Dolphins for a highlight video.

Host Adam Burke began this Week 3 Circa Sports Million II podcast on ATS Radio with some updates on how the field did last week. It was an outstanding week for the field at 55.88% and Adam talked about what transpired to make it a good week and also how things went in the SuperContest. Then it was time to discuss his picks and leans for Week 3.
Adam talked about four very likely picks with two favorites and two underdogs that are probably going to make the cut by 4 p.m. ET when picks are due to our proxy. Adam also talked about three leans, including a lead-off lean that will be his fifth pick depending on the injury news that comes out between now and that deadline. Agree? Disagree? Whatever the case, hopefully you at least get some food for thought and preferably some winners from Adam’s weekly Circa podcast.

Brad Powers on ATS.io Radio - College Football Week 4 & NFL Week 3 Sep 24, 2020

Host Adam Burke and professional handicapper Brad Powers discussed a lot during their 70 or so minutes together on today’s program. The guys started with some general thoughts in college football, including the start of SEC play, home field advantage, a highlight topic on live betting, and breakdowns of UAB vs. South Alabama, Middle Tennessee vs. UTSA, Tennessee vs. South Carolina, and a highlight game of Kentucky vs. Auburn.
On the NFL side of things, Adam and Brad talked about the rash of injuries that we’ve seen across the league to this point and which ones have been accounted for in the lines. They talked about a few games, including a highlight game for Raiders vs. Patriots and had a back-and-forth with a difference of opinion on the Chiefs vs. Ravens on Monday Night Football.

On the Tuesday September 22 edition of ATS.io Radio, host Adam Burke and guest Brian Blessing kicked off with the NFL and finished up with some NHL Stanley Cup Finals action. On the NFL side, Adam and Brian talked about the rash of injuries and whether or not there were any overreactions with the odds or any of the games on the board.
A highlight video discussion that encompassed a lot of their Week 2 thoughts took up a good portion of the show, including breakdowns of Rams vs. Bills, Chiefs vs. Ravens, Washington vs. Browns, and Bengals vs. Eagles. Host Adam Burke had a few epiphanies thanks to a sour close to his MLB handicapping for the 2020 regular season. A lot of changes are coming and Adam used his platform on The Bettor’s Box to discuss those changes. After talking a little bit about the playoffs, the new format, and the end of the regular season and how to handle it, he launched into several points of emphasis that will change his MLB handicapping philosophies for next season.
The focus will be shifting away from the regression analysis handicapping and will be less about the stats and what they are telling us and more about looking for expectation based on pitch selection, matchups, contact quality, and a different way of studying the game that we all love. Adam also highlighted some league trends that could carry over to next year and how those have negatively impacted this season’s capping and will have to be accounted for next season.

The guys started by talking about when to enter the market on games and also hit on their power ratings adjustments for Week 4. They also did a breakdown of UAB vs. South Alabama and a highlight video for Tennessee vs. South Carolina.
After hitting a few other college football games, the guys transitioned to the NFL to discuss the rash of injuries from Week 2. They also did a highlight video breakdown on key numbers in the NFL and did a video breakdown of Dolphins vs. Jaguars before finishing up the show with their pick on Rams vs. Bills.

Adam and Brad talked about power ratings adjustments and some general Week 3 thoughts for college football before discussing the handicapping of coaches on a highlight video over on our ATS YouTube page. They also discussed several games, including Boston College vs. Duke, Syracuse vs. Pitt, and a highlight game of App State vs. Marshall.
On the NFL side of the spectrum, Adam and Brad discussed Week 1 to Week 2 overreactions and came to a pretty interesting conclusion about the limited number of games that appear mispriced. They discussed some teams that look like play-on squads, talked about Bengals vs. Browns, and then recorded a highlight video for Ravens vs. Texans.

The Bettor’s Box MLB Betting Podcast September 15, 2020 Sep 15, 2020

Host Adam Burke was back with a rather contemplative edition of The Bettor’s Box on Tuesday September 15. He talked a lot about evaluating how this season has gone and about the processes and methods that he uses to handicap. After taking a look at offense for the past week to offer up some thoughts on what to watch for as the regular season comes to a close, Adam wondered aloud whether smaller sample sizes are worth factoring into the handicap.
As an ardent believer in sabermetrics, sample sizes are critically important, but it may simply be that MLB teams go through form cycles like teams in all of the other sports. Along with those thoughts, Adam talked about handicapping mindsets of teams with just 12 days left in the regular season. He also talked about line moves in the marketplace and what he has his sights set on for some potential plays on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
