AskPat 2.0: A Weekly Coaching Call on Online Business, Blogging, Marketing, and Lifestyle Design

I’m Pat Flynn, a regular guy who happens to be a successful online entrepreneur. You may know me from my other podcast, Smart Passive Income, which is consistently ranked as a #1 business podcast. I love hearing from my fans, and the opportunity to answer their questions was why I started the original AskPat podcast. After 1,000 very successful episodes, I’m making AskPat even better! AskPat 2.0 takes the AskPat template and goes deeper with a weekly coaching call between me and an entrepreneur just like you! I won’t be able to coach everyone, but I’ll do my best to feature entrepreneurs with questions other online business owners can relate to and learn from. If you’re stuck with your online business, just ask pat! Now, plug in those headphones because it’s time to learn together about online business, entrepreneurship, internet marketing, audience building, passive income, blogging, list building, virtual assistants, startups, search engine optimization, email marketing, and so much more. #askpat

How Do I Transition My Offline Business Online, Brand-Wise? Aug 13, 2020
    Show notes

LeAnne Lagasse and her business partner founded ROI Talent Development, a successful business in Texas, and they want to take it online. But online, they recognize it's a lot harder to connect with a corporate brand, versus a human, individual personality, like Rick Mulready or Amy Porterfield. We discuss how to keep the brand we have but show up in a different way so we can attract more people. Take, for instance, how Smart Passive Income became synonymous with Pat Flynn. How do we make a seamless transition to serving customers online? If you enjoyed today's episode and you love the format of this show and helping other entrepreneurs, can you help me convince others to listen, too? All you have to do is leave a quick review and rating on Apple Podcasts (and subscribe if you haven't already). That would mean the world to me, so thank you so much!My team uses Gusto. It has made life so much easier. They make payroll, taxes, and HR actually easy for small businesses. And honestly, I couldn't live without it—truly. How Do I Share My Story and Get More People to Find My Message? Aug 06, 2020
    Show notes

My guests on today's coaching call are a couple who have done something incredible. Their son, Tim, was diagnosed with autism at age two, and with severe speech and language and communication disorder at four. But his mom, Sally Wagter, never gave up on her child. Tim just turned 18, and he's amazing. And Sally and Erik Wagter, experienced entrepreneurs, have just launched a website called Releasing My Child's Potential and published a book titled Miracle in Slow Motion to support families with autistic children. But how do they get their message out to the people who need to hear it? We talk about opportunities for PR, and ways to get attention for a book that's already available for sale.If you enjoyed today's episode and you love the format of this show and helping other entrepreneurs, can you help me convince others to listen, too? My Target Audience Are Not My Buyers. What Do I Do? Jul 30, 2020

The entrepreneur on today's coaching call, Tola Ogunlewe, is a a sports performance coach and lawyer who helps young athletes break through their mental and physical limitations and navigate their career growth with his business, Athlete Maestro. His issue centers around how to talk to his buyers—these young athletes' parents. If I were a 16-year-old athlete, I'd definitely need to go to my parents and convince them Tola's services were something worth paying for. How Can I Promote Without Being Tone Deaf During Turbulent Times? Jul 23, 2020

Dr. Joi Lewis is the founder of Joi Unlimited Coaching and Consulting. She's a facilitator of liberation through social justice, healing justice, and radical self care. She also can be found at HealingJusticeFoundation.org. I'm so thankful to bring her on the show to amplify her voice and what she's doing. But secondly, I want to help her out because there's some messaging that we need to pay attention to. How do we promote our stuff when there are so many other important things to talk about—stuff that's probably more important than the thing we're selling? If you enjoyed today's episode and you love the format of this show and helping other entrepreneurs, can you help me convince others to listen, too? My Business Topic is Not Normal. How Do I Grow and Become the Authority? Jul 09, 2020

One day a few years back, tennis player Sandy Farquharson was tapped on the shoulder to step in for a padel player who had dropped out of a tournament. Sandy had never played padel, and like the vast majority of people in the English-speaking world, didn't even know the sport existed. Turns out, he was kind of a natural. So now he runs the only English coaching program for padel. He's got a website. He's on YouTube. He also has courses, a podcast, an Instagram page, and a bunch of questions about the best way to grow. We chat about coaching, Teachable, lessons from Will it Fly?, and Betsy McNally, from AP 1117. I Feel Like I Have to Start Over. What Do I Do? Jul 02, 2020

Chapin Kreuter seems really cool. But what happened to him was not cool at all. He’s a traveler, a surfer, and an expat, and he’s got a podcast called Misfits and Rejects for people who hate their nine-to-five, and dream of living far away. He comes into this coaching call, as he says, to “throw [him]self at the mercy of the podcasting court and say, ’Help me please, help me be a better podcaster.’” And it really comes to whether we're going to let a setback mean we start again from scratch or, rather, use it as a pivot point. Hopefully what happened to Chapin doesn't happen to you, but if it does, you'll be better equipped because of listening to this show.If you enjoyed today's episode and you love the format of this show and helping other entrepreneurs, can you help me convince others to listen, too? How Do I Get More Clients and Stand Out In The Crowded Niche I'm In? Jun 18, 2020
    Show notes

Kelyn Block has built a part-time basketball coaching business through word of mouth, and he wants to parlay it into a full-time gig. He's got a clear shot at the basket and just has to start dribbling down the court. I help him navigate and discover where he can go with his special skill—because obviously, he's not the only one to teach basketball. This is a very tactical conversation in which I try to get Kelyn comfortable talking a little bit more about himself. He does a great job answering the questions, and we get to some really exciting conclusions. By the end, you'll be on the sidelines cheering Kelyn down the court.
