I was elated to speak with this living legend. My dearly departed mother, Donna Theresa, was a HUGE Jennifer Holliday fan! Her name was spoken in our household many times in my youth. I recall mama exclaiming NOBODY CAN HOLD A CANDLE TO JENNIFER HOLLIDAY! So very true.
In this episode, we discuss her childhood aspirations and when she realized her voice would change the trajectory of her life. As she approached 60 years of life, while in a pandemic, she wasn’t sure how to mark this monumental event. Find out what led to the forthcoming virtual concert.

JMeel is an all-star performer with a thirst to be at the top. This singer, songwriter, actor, and dancer has the potential to become music’s next hottest performer. JMeel started his musical career at an early age and has continued to evolve into the performer that you see today. He has shared the stage with the likes of some of Broadways finest entertainers such as Norm Lewis, Shoshanna Bean, Amanda Watkins, Gavin Creel just to name a few courtesy of the Broadway Dreams Foundation. He is an active member of ASCAP and has attended numerous music conferences and conventions.
He has been vocally trained at Jan Smith Studios (Usher, Ciara, and Latoya Luckett) and Fruition Organized Music (India Arie, Avery Sunshine, Janelle Monae) and has taken acting classes at the Alliance Theatre. JMeel received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Theatre. He has been on the sets of MGM Studios Feature Films “Stomp The Yard” and “Madea’s Family Reunion.”
His musical influences include John Legend, Usher, Lauryn Hill, Musiq Soulchild, India Arie, and Stevie Wonder just to name a few. His style of music takes you on a journey from R&B, Pop, to Soul music. JMeel released his debut cover album “The Beginning” early 2015. JMeel will release his debut original single by fall 2015 and he is currently in the studio creating music to be released later this year. JMeel strongly believes that with GOD, hard work, and patience he will soon have the opportunity to take his music worldwide. Though he has accomplished a lot, the best is yet to come. Nourish Baby with Littles Skin Care Oct 06, 2020

Our story is as simple as our ingredients. We wanted to give the new grandbaby in our lives the gift of all-natural skin care. Watching my daughter care for him in those early days, I saw how much she struggled to find skincare products that were natural and that actually worked. The changing table was lined with lotions and creams that were little more than synthetics and filler. I wanted her to have a better choice, so I put my career in Chemical Engineering to work developing balms and butters enriched with vitamins A, D & E. I concocted natural products without synthetic preservatives, dyes, and toxins.
Our joy and excitement about these products were impossible to hide. Word spread and just like that, what started as a valentine to our grandson bloomed into something magical. More and more parents discovered the quality and uniqueness of our products, and Littles Skin Care was born.
We are proud to be a part of your family’s skincare routine. We understand that as a parent you want to do all you can to protect your baby’s soft, delicate skin. After all, we’re parents too.

OUR PRODUCTS
What we put in:
Plant oils such as avocado oil, almond oil, grape seed oil are deeply nourishing and moisturizing.
The mineral zinc oxide and titanium dioxide provide full UVB & UVA protection provide full broad spectrum sunscreen protection from suntan, sunburns, skin wrinkling and skin cancer.
Neem oil is an all-natural insect repellent Our mosquito repellent balm is 100% natural, effective and safe to use not only on children but to people of all ages.
Natural fragrances like lavender, eucalyptus and mint can help soothe a fussy baby.
Many of our products are also available fragrance-free.
What we leave out:
Petroleum deprives the skin of air and moisture. It creates an invisible film on the surface blocking pores and the skin’s natural respiration process. Blocked pores mean trapped dirt and oil leading to blackheads, pimples, and whiteheads.
Parabens, sulfates, and phthalates that can cause allergic reactions and rashes.
They contain highly toxic formaldehyde-releasing ingredients which are carcinogenic, increasing the risk of cancer in both men and women.
DEET is a dangerous synthetic chemical used in creams and bug sprays.

The Comfort Cub is the world's very first weighted therapeutic teddy bear. It was invented by founder Marcella Johnson in 1999 after the loss her infant son, George, due to a congenital disease. The Cub was developed to help other mothers who suffered from the loss of their infant. The Comfort Cub is specially weighted and is intended to simulate the weighted comfort of cradling a newborn.

While the initial intent of The Comfort Cub was for child loss, evidence shows it provides profound relief for any traumatic event. This includes having to leave the hospital while your baby is still in the NICU, the loss of a spouse, parent, loved one or beloved pet. It has also been effective for occupational & autism therapy, adoptions and those experiencing divorce or traumatic loss.

Due to deep touch pressure, holding The Comfort Cub triggers the brain to release key neurotransmitters and "the cuddle hormone", which causes the body to relax and feel comforted. For more than five years, we have been inspired by our young Founder’s sense of wonder. Through Heath’s passion for joyously exploring nature and learning new things, and his drive to solve problems, we embrace how curiosity propels us forward and enhances the wellbeing of all people.
After completing a week-long Potions Lab where he unearthed the magical, healing, and aromatic treasures of plants and herbs, Heath, at the age of four, submitted his first sales plan and a fee of $20 to rent a booth selling hand-crafted, alcohol-free hand sanitizer at Clairbourn School’s inaugural, Entrepreneurial Fair. Following his curiosity into an artistic, apothecary-like setting, Heath quickly learned to mix and stir essential oils, plant butters & oils, and other natural substances into products to nourish the body and uplift the soul. What was once a small school project is now the blueprint for something much greater. Today, at Heathmade we offer an array of products including, lotion bars, lip balms, deodorant, a healing balm for the face & body, and Heath's signature hand sanitizers - all filled with curiosity.
