With the SCOTUS Roe v. Wade ruling quickly approaching, we'd like to share 5 mistakes to avoid in a post Roe v. Wade society.
It’s no secret that women’s health rights are at risk.
But according to Dr. Sophia Yen — a birth control and adolescent reproductive expert — countless women are looking to make the following five birth control and contraception blunders:
>> MISTAKE #1: DELETE YOUR PERIOD TRACKERS
Digital period trackers and apps can be subpoenaed in court to prove past missed periods (potential pregnancies) - and assist in confirming a suspected abortion.
>> MISTAKE #2: PLAN C IS NOT CONTRACEPTION
Plan C, unlike Plan B, is not a form of emergency contraception. It is a form of medical abortion.
>> MISTAKE #3: PLAN B HAS BMI LIMITATIONS
The Plan B pill is less effective on women with a BMI of 25+, while options such as ELLA are effective on women with a BMI up to 31.
>> MISTAKE #4: YOU CAN SAFELY QUIT YOUR PERIOD
With the fear of a birth control and femine health product shortage, Dr. Yen urges young women to consider skipping their periods - it is a safe and healthy option for those who are interested!
>> MISTAKE #5: MY DOCTOR IS TELLING ME EVERYTHING
Many doctors, such as OBG/YNs, are not experts in one topic (periods, birth control, etc.) - Speak with expert doctors if you are concerned about your birth control or emergency contraception options that work best for your body type and lifestyle.

In a world flooded with distresses like divorce, father absence, rampant sexual abuse, anxiety, and depression, there seems to be an epidemic of escapism through drugs, alcohol, consumerism, sex, violence, and suicide. Now, Nearly two years after the start of COVID-19 social-distancing protocols and lockdowns, the pandemic is something that exacerbated these problems. The pandemic changed our world and had an impact on everything, especially our relationships with family and friends.
Dr. Rick D. Merritt’s newly released “The Bridge Between Us: Becoming One in Marriage” is a fresh and engaging examination of the marital bond and is being released at a time when people need to be reminded of how to love and be loved.

Officiating marriages and family counseling has been a part of Dr. Merritt' ministry for over 25 years. He has also had the privilege of marrying a VIP couple; LeBron and Savannah James wedding Sept 14, 2013 at the Grand Del Mar Hotel in San Diego CA.

As a mom of a child who had nightmares close to every night I knew I had to come up with a solution that offered more than a gimmick or trick of the imagination. I asked other parents what they were doing to ease the nightmare chaos but no one had a solid solution so, the research journey began.

I quickly stumbled upon weighted blankets and got to work creating the perfect prototype. It didn't take long before Makai started writing a book to accompany the blanket and Kaija Lily came up with the certification process and certificate.

We've conducted surveys, think tanks and brainstorm sessions to create a great experience for every child who receives a Monster Protection Academy package.

As for the Moxie and Luxie Lines those were created for a number of reasons. We have personally seen the success of weighted blankets with Restless Leg Syndrome, stress, anxiety, insomnia and helping ease the trials of being bipolar by having our friends and family use our blankets.

From The Founder: Since I was in my early twenties, me and my husband have been running our own business. From helping him run his Automotive Repair company, to owning my own clothing boutique to now doing what I am truly passionate about. Skincare! I have always had a hard time working for other people. I wanted control on how to treat customers in the best way. I didn't want someone telling me I could only take so long for an appointment.
Skincare is very complicated. Having a license as an esthetician is only the beginning. It takes continuous education that will never end. But I love the challenge and figuring out the root problems of the skin. Educating clients on at home care is just as important to what I do in the treatment room. It's all about keeping long lasting results.

Bakon™ is the creation of David Jones, a lifelong foodie, experimentalist and entrepreneur.
David had wanted to embrace full-time vegetarianism for years, but felt that every time he tried, the meat substitutes available in the stores were simply not as tasty, satisfying or healthy as he wished for.
Those experiences always left him pining for a crispy, chewy, deeply flavorful and savory protein. So, as a lifelong cook for family and friends, he began to experiment with healthy whole foods to perfect the meatless meals that would satisfy him and hopefully others.

Success came little by little. Everyone he cooked for liked his Texas Vegan Chili, and his Tofu based meat substitutes, encouraging him always to make more. He found that if you want to make a better tofu-based meat substitute, you need to have a better tofu.
David began to learn the ancient art of tofu making, from bean to cake. Afterwards, he began to experiment by making changes and additions to the process that created new tofu products, never tasted before.
The breakthrough came in 2019, when David discovered several innovative techniques that led to the delicious, crispy, mouth-melting taste of the Bakon™ we love today.
David began selling at the Beaverton Farmers Market outside Portland, Oregon in January 2021, then expanded into the New Seasons Market chain of grocery stores.
Customer response was overwhelming, and a few months later he partnered with longtime entrepreneur Jared Hansen to help create a company, Thrilling Foods, capable of and bringing Bakon™ and other plant-based meat products to a global market.
