It feels like the current political situation is dire, an easy environment to fall into resentment fear and hopelessness, but today I want to explain why we must do the very opposite, why we must anchor in positive energy, and how even as an individual you can change humanity as a whole.

Politics and spirituality may seem very remote from one another, and in many ways, they are, however, we can approach politics from a place of spiritual alignment and with the goal of creating positive change.

Silvie Peric started her life in a world that enabled egocentric entitlement, she was not presented with questions that opened up to the possibilities of how she could be of service or what she had to offer, but rather, “how can I get more?”

“𝙄 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣'𝙩 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜”

This was until she experienced a near-death experience in 2013 that unraveled her previously held perception of the world and her place in it. She learned to discover the difference between an egocentric and superficial way of living and a spiritually grounded, compassionate, and empathetic way of being in the world.

Today Silvie supports others through difficult life transitions with a new understanding of her own life struggles and revelations, a master's degree in psychology, and as a Certified Spiritual Life Coach.

EP 9: How to come home to your spiritual core for the holidays Dec 21, 2021

The holidays always seem to emphasize coming home to family, friends and loved ones. We also need to think about how we come home to ourselves. Today, on the winter solstice, is a good day to really think about our spiritual foundation. What are the core practices that bring us back to our center and reconnect us with our higher power when things get difficult.

Answering your unique calling isn’t always easy. Sometimes we face trials or difficulties and we can get pulled out of our calm core or feel disconnected from our higher power. During these times, we need a strong spiritual foundation to bring us back to that calm and reconnect us with the Divine. These are our core practices and they need to be something we can do almost automatically.

Because if they’re not, we won’t feel like doing them when things are difficult. That’s the beauty of these foundational practices, they give us something almost mindless to do when things get rough, that as we do them, bring us peace and a renewed sense of connection to God.

In this episode of the Answer Your Unique Calling podcast, I talk about spiritual foundations and core practices in the context of Yule, the winter solstice.
