    Another Mother Runner

A family of two podcasts to get (+ keep) you running without losing your family, friends, job, or sanity! More than 1,000 (!) back episodes to enjoy.

Every Friday on the original show (launched in 2011), host Sarah Bowen Shea, a mom of three and veteran of 14 marathons, is joined by a rotating cast of co-hosts and often a guest expert to discuss topics ranging from how to reach a big race goal to finding your athletic happy place, and everything in between. Training, nutrition, motivation, mental toughness, TMI issues: This ~hour-long show covers it all (and then some!).

Every Tuesday, Miles of Books drops, alternating Ellison Weist chatting fiction one week with Sarah Bowen Shea and non-fiction with Coach Liz Waterstraat and Sarah the next. In about 30 minutes, the hosts entice and entertain you with plot descriptions and pearls of training (and life!) advice to guide you to your next great reads.

Both shows are witty and conversational, making them great running partners because the AMR gals do all the talking—even on the uphills!

Many Happy Miles: Celebrating Runiversaries Feb 28, 2023
    Show notes

If you’ve ever experienced the life-altering power of running, this episode is for you. We’re chatting runiversaries, or the special dates in our lives tied to running. Whether it was that very first run, a breakthrough race, or a moment you realized you were stronger than you thought, we wax nostaligic on those core memories and chat about their impact. First, hosts Dimity and Sarah WF share their own runiversaries, and then we hear from several two guests with poignant runiversaries, including:

    • Sheena Morrissey, a Canadian mother runner living in Scotland who annually honors the day she was able to run after suffering from a series of major strokes that left her unable to walk at first.
    • Carolyn Leebs, a mother runner pioneer from Chicago with two special runiversaries: The day she went for her first run in 1982, and the day she went on a run with her now-husband; the pair are still logging miles three decades later.

Make sure to listen throughout for several other runiversaries from the AMR community!
