Sunday Spotlights: The Melanites bih! May 09, 2022

Welcome Back all you Melanated Mangaka to another episode of Anime Sundays Podcast! The Nerdz are back with a new Series called Sunday Spotlights! We will be doing a series of interviews with different black creators in the nerd space from Comics and Manga to Anime and Gaming, giving all our fam out there the drop on some of their upcoming projects and works. Our very first guest of the series is comic book writer of the Melanites and CEO of his own comic book company Born again Thugs LLC, Tyger Moore! We got a chance to get a copy of issue 1 of his new comic book series The Melanites and talk deeper about the unique characters and inspiration behind his work. The series gives a twist on traditional religion, Egyptian mythos, and gang culture and the resulting world makes for a good start of what seems to be a very wild ride!

Join us as Tyger drops some gems on the business side of the comic book industry as well as gives us details on how his entire corporation is black owned on every front from start to finish and how they are even giving back to the mother land in the process! Did you miss the the brightly colored and violent plot of The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace? WE GOTCHU! What about the saddest deaths in anime since Akame Ga Kill(whispers) with the debut of To Your Eternity?? No worries WE TALKIN BOUT IT! Join us as we celebrate the end of what has been a truly a great year for anime, as well as a great year for us! With the 2nd season giving us an even deeper look at the world and its many characters like Ghislaines brother Gyes, Roxys parents and their unique long ear tribe and of course…Orsted the dragon God himself! "Takemitchy" has got to be the most PUNISHED protagonist in anime to date! but his struggles and determination against obviously uphill battles makes him one of our most heart felt heroes and lets be honest how could you look away from the train wreck while it happens!?

The manga has been a long time favorite for alot of fans and the anime really does not disappoint as it builds with amazing pacing and hero that we are literally BEGGING to get at least one W in all of this SHEESH! Welcome back to all my nerds from the village hidden in the podcast!! Its finally time to talk royalty today fam and talk about the newest prince of anime himself, Boruto bihh!! Its been a long time coming but we finally got to chop it up about all things Boruto and pay homage to the newest hero from the Uzumaki clan! As part of the "New Big 3" Boruto is bringing a lot to the table....FINALLY! The anime has been criticized heavily for its initial departure away from the manga source material and instead building up to the plot in separate but sometimes still exciting ways!

We got the amazing opportunity to sit and have a delicious lao family style meal with the chef and management of Sticky rice Orlando and get into just what makes their food so distinct from other Asian street food! We also got to chop it up and discuss some of the staffs favorite anime and how they bring an anime positive vibe to their workplace.

Our topic for the crew within this episode was who has the biggest appetite in the entire anime universe and the answers are hilarious!(Including us calling gluttony from FMA greed the entire time...lol Fail) "Chef Bam" was handed an apron and actually helped prepare some of the dishes within this episode and we cant wait until the release of the Full video on our Youtube channel to share with you guys! No matter what your tastes are in anime, theres probably an isekai for it. Episode 1: Yasuke Bih May 23, 2021

In Our Debut Episode we cover all things YASUKE!! Yasuke is the netflix adaptation of the historical figure known throughout Japan as the only black Samurai to exist that served under Oda Nobunaga during the Sengoku Period.

In this episode we highlight LeSean Thomas, the creator of Yasuke who has worked on everything from The Boondocks Seasons 1 and 2, as well as another one of his own original anime series Cannon Busters. We will breakdown everything from the story within Yasuke as well as the Art and action scenes, to also discussing Oscar nominee Lakeith Stanfield making his voice over debut portraying the legendary samurai!

We also touch on the slick soundtrack in Yasuke, executive produced by the Master Musician Otaku himself, Flying Lotus! We also don't forget to shoutout our favorite "Dragon Ball Durag" nerd Thundercat singing smooth vocals on the Intro track and definitely setting the vibe of the show for the rest of the ride!
