Episode 46 - 3x02 Phoenix Feb 14, 2018

Show notes

This week Zach is joined by Matt Truex from Lois & Clark'd: The New Podcasts of Superman to discuss forty sixth episode of Smallville, "Phoenix." They talk the end of Dr. Helen Bryce, the many reveals of Clark and Lex's coming home to their friends, them somehow never saying "Phoenix," and much more! We've risen from the ashes in the latest Always Hold On To Smallville!
*A couple of misspeaks here in the wrap up, Matt ups his grade from B+ to A but when I repeat our grades "for the record" I don't take that into account. Also I'm horrible at math and say this is the 48th episode of the series, it's the 46th.

Midvale Special #1 Dec 13, 2017

Show notes

It's our first Midvale Special! Zach is joined by Craig Byrne, webmaster of Kryptonsite and K-SiteTV, to discuss a very special flashback episode of Supergirl that would fit right in the in early days of Smallville. This episode is a complete love letter rife with references, familiar sets, character name drops and even a special guest star! It's an open forum discussion that goes round and round from Tom Welling on Lucifer, Allison Mack, Crisis on-Earth X, and much more!
Kryptonsite has always been the hub of Smallville fandom, so if you've never heard of it or just haven't been in a while I highly recommend checking out both it and its sister site KSiteTV which covers all genre television currently on the air!

Superman Special #7 - Superman: The Movie - Extended Cut Dec 05, 2017

Show notes

It's our seventh Superman Special! Zach is joined by Mike Krause to discuss the extended cut of Superman: The Movie! In late 2017, the Warner Archive announced it was releasing the long lost three hour TV cut of what many consider (Krause and I certainly do) the greatest superhero film of all time. This came as a surprise and delight to many Superman fans who for years had only bootleg copies recorded off television in the 1980s to remember it by, and to many more who were unaware that an extended cut even existed!
We discuss the differences between the three (yes, three!) versions of Superman: The Movie, our thoughts on its interpretation of the Superman story and its characters, dissect the infamous climax, and much more!
Here's an in-depth breakdown of the differences between the theatrical cut, special edition, and extended cut of the movie by Movie Censorship. Fair warning, it gets extremely detailed and is not for the faint of heart: https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=763192

Superman Special #6 - Justice League Nov 21, 2017

Show notes

It's our sixth Superman Special! Zach is joined by Lance Laster and Mike Damante to discuss Justice League, the latest installment in the ever divisive DCEU. Have the powers that be learned from the mistakes of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, or is it SSDD for the DCEU? We do our best unpack the long road to DC finally bringing the league to the big screen, our thoughts on the movie as it is and as it could have been, and where we'd like to see the franchise go next.
This podcast contains SPOILERS. You've been warned!

First up, The Chloe Chronicles! Zach is joined by Lance Laster to discuss these webisodes set during the second season.
