#45 Jordan Burger - “If you call me on stage… I’ll be ready!” Mar 04, 2020
    Show notes

Today on the podcast I sit down with booking agent Jordan Burger. Jordan is Carbon Leaf’s booking agent and I had been really excited to talk with him and pick his brain a bit. Throughout this conversation he reveals some of the “secrets” of booking bands, and the things that bands/artists need to do to take it to the next level. It was truly a please to have him on the show and I hope you enjoy the episode!

#43 Dean Anshutz - “I can’t let my girlfriend know about this” Feb 12, 2020
    Show notes

Well well well, if it isn’t Dean, the kid from Youngstown himself. This episode was a long time in the making, but we finally sat down in the confines of stateroom 5556 on the Rock Boat to make it happen. Dean brings originality, quality, fun, and a pinch of that guy from the local flee market to his playing and personality. If he’s not on the road with Red Wanting Blue, he’s cruising the local thrift stores and record shops to find that rare, but wonderful unknown artist. Or even better, the perfect shaker for the next recording project. This was truly a pleasure, and I hope you enjoy!

    #42 Rock Boat Recap - “I suck at basketball” Feb 05, 2020
    Show notes

I’m back! Sorry for the delay, but I’ve been getting used to real life again. It’s hard when there isn’t a buffet, non-stop live music, casino, beautiful weather, and a soft-serve ice cream machine available to you 24 hours a day. And I know that now. This episode is a short and sweet one to get back into the swing of things. I answer some email and Patreon questions, and provide an overall rundown of my experience on the boat. Enjoy!

#41 Jessica Martin - “What are we trying to do here?” Jan 15, 2020
    Show notes

Jessica is a managers manager. You know how I know that… I don’t, but if I did it would have sounded super cool. Jess (as I affectionately call her), has been Stephen Kellogg’s manager for many years and has recently taken on a new client in Brian Dunne. In my experience with working with Jess over the last few years, I have enjoyed her personal and professional approach to meeting my needs and I’m overwhelmed with joy to have had this conversation with her on my show! (Was that too over the top?)

All Jokes aside, Jess knows a TON about the music industry and what it takes to solve an artists day to day challenges along side setting them up to accomplish their big picture goals. She’s one of my favorite people on the planet and I hope you enjoy the episode!

#40 Brian Dunne - “How are you going to put on pants, let alone write an album?” Jan 07, 2020
    Show notes

Brian Dunne is a fantastic singing songwriter that I met while playing with Stephen Kellogg. It turns out, we actually went to college together as well! I have been a fan of Brian’s music for a long time and getting to sit down with him before his gig in Newport was truly a pleasure. Brian has a new album coming out on April 10th called “Selling Things” and he was kind enough to play a song off of this upcoming album for us. Stay tuned till the end to check it out. Enjoy the episode!
