In September 2025, I took the stage at Shoshanna Raven's Living Brave Live to share a story that has shaped every part of my life, my leadership, and the global movement I've built through SoulWork.

This is a deeply personal talk about what it takes to rise as a woman who is devoted to both spiritual depth and business mastery, while creating a legacy of holy redistribution and meaningful impact in the world.

The journey begins in the red-light districts of Kolkata, India, where I first encountered the raw edges of human suffering while working alongside survivors of human trafficking. That experience forever changed me. It sparked a defining moment in a cracked mirror, where I asked myself if I was willing to give up everything to be the one who took action — and made the decision to stop waiting for somebody somewhere to do something, and instead become that somebody myself.

Out of that moment, SoulWork was born — an organization dedicated to training trauma-informed yoga teachers, leading global retreats, and supporting humanitarian projects around the world. Since its founding in 2015, SoulWork has:

Certified thousands of teachers worldwide
Built schools and classrooms in India, Guatemala, and Costa Rica
Created programs that merge trauma-informed leadership with spiritual practice
Crossed $3 million in lifetime revenue while staying rooted in purpose and integrity

But my journey hasn't always been easy. Behind the scenes of sold-out retreats and visible success, I struggled with financial scarcity, debt, and the pressure of carrying a global mission. I share how I went from being overextended and exhausted — running 50 retreats a year — to completely restructuring my business into a sustainable, high-profit, low-maintenance model.

This shift didn't just transform my business, it transformed my life. It gave me the space to:

Renovate my grandfather's home in cash
Build a stable financial foundation for my family

In this episode, I take you behind the scenes of Camp Soul—the emotional, spiritual, and tactical strategy that made this one of the most successful things I've ever created. Camp Soul is an adult camping weekend retreat happening October 9–12, 2025, and I'm sharing it not just as a case study, but as a living, breathing example of how business strategy and heart-led community-building can come together in the most magical way.

🌱 The Origin Story

The original idea for Camp Soul came from one of my beautiful students, Darlene. She had a vision for an adult camp, and to be totally honest—I thought it was cute, but I didn't feel the zing. It didn't immediately hit me as something I needed to lead or create.

But then… everything changed.

She found this venue in Illinois and invited Kyle and me to check it out. At the time, we were going through it. We were stressed, bickering, pushing through the final stages of moving into our house. The timing was terrible. But I trusted Darlene and convinced Kyle to come.

The moment we pulled in—pine trees towering, a red-tailed hawk swooping across the road, and that big camp sign arching overhead—I felt it. The place had soul. It was covered in tie-dye vans, obstacle courses, yurts, lakes, archery ranges, a food hall straight out of my '90s childhood. We got out of the car, and both Kyle and I were completely transformed. It was like our inner children came alive again.

That night around the fire (well, a cold, wet attempt at one 😅), I knew—we had to do this. This wasn't just an idea anymore. It was a calling.

As soon as we got home from the venue, I dropped a story on Instagram—no sales page, no funnel, just raw excitement—and registrations started popping like popcorn. It was wild.

I offered it at just $500 to start (now rising to $777), fully inclusive.
I set it up with a $108 deposit, with auto-billing for the rest three months later.
I literally built the sales page after people started signing up.

The momentum was pure alignment + energy.
