    Show notes

    Live from the Jon Lovitz Comedy Club, Adam opens the show discussing how LA seems like a great city until you visit other towns. He takes suggestions from the crowd for a round of What Can't Adam Complain About, and breaks down what it means to say 'Hip Hip Hooray'.
    Alison then starts up the St. Patty's Day news with a report from an Irish American astronaut. She also lists off facts about clovers, and shows the image of Jesus and Mary supposedly found on a pizza oven. Alison also talks to Adam and Mike August about a devastating pizza experience, and mentions a story about Virginia students being punished for bringing imitation drugs to school.
    Tonight's guests are Petros Papadakis and Matt 'Money' Smith, and Adam has known Money since the mid 90s in the early days at KROQ. Adam goes in depth about how he met Jimmy Kimmel, and the result of the fight he trained him for. They also talk about more of the alumni from the KROQ crew, and recall stories from the 'lunch wheel' in the office.
    Alison then jumps back into the news with the story of a Reality TV related question on the SAT that upset some students. Adam also plays a couple tracks from the upcoming Josh Gardner album, and the guys read through some ridiculous celebrity salaries. Adam wraps the shows up by playing the trailer for the Deaf Frat Guy movie.

    Adam opens with more thoughts on his attempts to claim the Guinness Podcast record, and also talks about the latest Basic Cable Commentary now available at AdamCarolla.com. Alison then jumps right into the news with a story about Rush Limbaugh's rant against environmentalists. The guys also talk about the sale of the world's most expensive dog, and Adam talks about labeling and confusing his old VHS porno tapes.
    In studio today is IndyCar racing champion Dario Franchitti. Adam talks to him about his Scottish heritage and his early days of racing. Adam also takes a look at one of the cars Dario owns, and tries to predict what's inside. Dario also talks about his marriage to Ashley Judd, and how supportive she is during his races.
    The guys talk a bit more about the old days of racing when they wore leather helmets and had no sense of history. They also discuss selling cars that were once considered not competitive, and talk about how cars need to be up to code so people don't cheat.
    Dario has to head out, but in the last segment of the show, the guys return with a round of Know Your SH. Alison then jumps back into the news with a clip from The Situation's recent bomb during the Donald Trump roast. Adam analyzes the footage and tries to figure out if they're bad jokes or just bad delivery. Wrapping up the show, Alison reads an excerpt from her upcoming addiction recovery memoir and discusses the upcoming competition to go on a date with her.

    Adam opens the show with the announcement that this podcast is going for the Guinness Book of World Records. Larry Miller is in studio, and comments on the current competition. Adam also encourages everyone to tell a friend about the show and help bring the record back to America.
    After a rant about hotel lamps, Alison jumps into the news with updates on the ongoing tragedies of Japan, and the occasional miracle found amongst the rubble. Adam also goes on a jag about Alice Cooper and creepy #1 rock songs, and Alison reads another chapter from his fake pregnancy memoirs. Before Larry heads out, he plays a round of the Hypothetical Road Trip.
    Today's guest is sports and business writer, Jonah Keri. Jonah describes his new book, 'The Extra 2%: How Wall Street Strategies Took a Major League Baseball Team from Worst to First.' Adam and Jonah talk a bit more about the purity of baseball, and talk football as well. Adam also asks Jonah about the current state of the economy.
    Later, Adam goes on a rant about TSA agents who detain but don't arrest, and Jonah also describes the extreme security he saw in Albania. Wrapping up the news, Alison discusses the cocaine found at Kennedy Space Center, and the sad passing of the last US WWI veteran. Before signing off, Adam has the team research an infamous WWII battle cruiser, and the guys take a surprise phone call to discuss the upcoming Facts of Life reunion.

    Adam lost his voice over the weekend, but he still has a couple complaints to get off his chest. Adam lays into a friend of his who brought his dog to the house and ignored a very simple sign. Adam also talks about the rainy weather in Seattle, but thanks the local fans for making it an amazing weekend.
    Moving into the news, Alison discusses the recent devastation in Japan, and Adam goes on a jag about nuclear power plants. Gilbert Gottfried is also in the news after getting fired as the AFLAC spokes-duck, and the guys hear some inappropriate tweets from both him and 50 Cent. Before taking a break, another portion of Adam's audio book plays.
    Joining the studio next is comedian Dan Cummins. Adam talks with Dan about his degree in psychology, and how he eventually made it out of his small Idaho town to become a comedian. The guys discuss how shitty it is to work for cheap, and debate what they would do in an apocalyptic setting. Dan also mentions the time he attended an antigovernment militia meeting.
    Alison then talks about the time she dated a white supremacist. Following that, she jumps back into the news with an update on Jimmy Kimmel, who was recently evacuated from Bora Bora. The guys also discuss National Pi Day, and wrap the show talking about Larry King's potential new career move.

    Adam has a chat with an acting great: Stacy Keach. Stacy talks about splitting his time between LA and Poland, since his wife of 25 years lives there. But Stacy grew up in the Valley so he and Adam relate to having a Bob's Big Boy close by, and cruising the streets at night. Stacy also talks about his father, who worked in the radio biz, and talks about transitioning from playing football to being an actor.
    Adam also talks with Stacy about traveling to London and performing theater there as well. Adam asks him about how often he travels to Poland, and also gets a rec for a great local Polish restaurant. Adam then mentions the celebrity gossip he heard back in the day that Stacy was caught with cocaine and sent to prison.
    Stacy recalls the 6 months he spent in a British prison, comparing it to the jails he's seen in the US as an actor. Stacy talks about the psychological and physical battle of addiction, and explains that while he was in prison he tried to be as productive as possible. The guys also share their thoughts on Charlie Sheen (since Stacy was in several episodes of Two and a Half Men), and talk about how to organize an intervention.
    In the final segment of the show, Adam recalls his transition from the construction site to meeting Jimmy. He discusses a conversation he had with a writer on Seinfeld, and soberly recalls how he thought she was so lucky at the time, but fate had a different plan for her. Adam ends the show with advice to us all on how to best live life.

    Adam opens the show with an embarrassing story from the morning when he got the wrong call-in numbers for his radio press. Alison then jumps right into the news with a story from a Carolla-fan racing the Iditarod, and the latest Charlie Sheen drama. Adam and Alison also discuss Guy Fieri's stolen Lamborghini, and Alison reads another chapter from her fake pregnancy memoir.
    Tonight promises to be a jam-packed show, and the first guest is Dan Finnerty from the Dan Band. Adam compliments him on the concert he just performed prior to recording. Dan then comments on an off-air argument he heard between Adam and Donny, and soon Donny is in studio defending himself. The guys then rehash the infamous Carpet Cleaner Argument.
    Adam chats a bit more with Dan about his performance, and Dan gives Alison a hard time for missing it. Adam also asks about The Hangover 2, and Dan compliments the film's director, Todd Phillips. The guys then play an in-person version of Know Your SH.
    Patrick Warburton joins the show next, and Adam talks to him about his radiating confidence. Patrick also talks about the St. Jude's charity, and the tournament he participated in over the weekend to raise money. Adam also talks about why he doesn't sleep on the plane, and the guys recall their experience racing in the Celebrity Grand Prix last year.
    Back to the news, Alison talks about a science teacher who was fired after the porn she appeared in surfaced. Another news story deals with a millionaire who found a credit card on the ground and is now very busted. Patrick then flips through Adam's wallet, and Adam complains about his American Express Black Card. Wrapping things up, the guys discuss the billion-dollar success story of Febreze, and a guy who gave CPR to a dog.

The guys also chat about Charlie Sheen, and the latest person kicked off of Celebrity Rehab. Adam also talks about getting Jimmy to smell a massive fart.
    Also in the news is the world's youngest grandmother, and a casting announcement for who's slated to play Sarah Palin in an upcoming HBO movie. Adam also talks about his terrible hairstyle back in the day, and goes on a rant against people who use Purell and open doors with their feet.
    Bobcat Goldthwait then joins the stage, showing the real photo of his driver's license. He also talks about a near-death experience on an airplane, and tells stories from his days opening for Nirvana. The guys also talk more about non-addicts on Celebrity Rehab, and Adam perfectly summarizes the Reality TV genre.
    Bobcat talks about his new Showtime special, which he's very excited to be recording next week. Adam compliments his feature film directing, then flashes back to several Man Show clips, which Bobcat also directed. Wrapping things up, Adam takes audience suggestions for a hilarious round of What Can't Adam Complain About.

    Adam opens the show with Larry Miller in studio, and Adam teases his nanny Olga for her pronunciation problems. He also discusses his man-date with Bill Simmons, from the box office to the concession stand to the movie itself.
    Alison then jumps in the news with the sad story of former Alice In Chains bassist Mike Starr passing away today. Adam talks about his experience meeting the band on Loveline, and shares some thoughts about how quickly life goes by. Alison also shares a chapter from her upcoming memoirs. Before Larry heads out, a round of Blah Blah Blog ensues.
    Mr. Skin comes to the couch next, and Adam talks to him about how he runs his website without getting in trouble. Adam also discusses how his kids are going to be over-exposed to nudity, and the guys recall the days when they could barely catch a boob on TV. Adam also talks about being lured by a porno, and Mr. Skin lists off some actresses he's still waiting to see nude.
    The guys then play some clips from the winners of the 12th Annual Anatomy Awards. Categories include Nude-comer of the year, Best Lesbian Scene, and a discussion of the best example of Nudity in 2010. Alison wraps the show with news stories ranging from Pork's new slogan, Subways new spot as the most expansive restaurant chain, and an alleged kidnapping that was actually an intervention.

    Adam opens the show excited for his man-date to see Drive Angry with Bill Simmons. Adam also talks about being frustrated at parents who support their children, and gets a few jabs in toward Alison and Bill. Alison then opens the news with Dr. Drew doing an impression of Adam.
    Also in the news is the official announcement that Charlie Sheen has been fired from Two and a Half Men. They also talk about the feud between Sarah Palin and Kathy Griffin, and the story of a guy who assaulted his mother-in-law in a fold-out couch. The guys also listen to a section of Adam's book, where Adam rants about the hair in MASH.
    Tonight's guest is Michael Showalter. The guys talk about his old sketch group, The State, which did a skit about Adam's (and the show's) agent, Babydoll Dixon. The guys watch the clip, and also chat about Michael's new book, 'Mr. Funny Pants.'
    Next up is a few rounds of Made Up Movie, followed by a discussion of the day Adam found out about Bald Bryan's brain tumor. Adam also talks to Michael about being a bitter person, and how to channel that energy into something not negative. Wrapping up the show, the guys chat about handsome movie stars that pop out less attractive children.

    Adam returns to the studio fresh off a weekend on the road. He goes into a rant about the disgruntled TSA officers, and questions why his first class ticket doesn't buy him a little extra courtesy. He also talks about an airport celebrity sighting, and jokes about a TSA poster he saw leaving Miami.
    Dr. Bruce (aka Dr. Spazz) joins the program and talks with the group about the dangers of cocaine. They talk a bit about the amount Charlie Sheen claims to have taken, and Dr. Bruce attempts to diagnose his mental state. Adam also rants about Martin Sheen's stance on nuclear power plants.
    Jumping into the news, Alison adds more the discussion of Charlie Sheen. She had an exclusive interview with the producers of his new Ustream show, and the guys watch clips from his first episode. Before Dr. Bruce heads out, he talks to Adam about the realities of baby helmets.
    Producer Peter Guber joins the show next. Adam talks to him about how he gets his motor to work so much and if he was always like that. Peter also discusses his relationship with his family, and how he broke into the industry. The guys also chat about his book, which chronicles some of the lessons he's learned in the industry over the past 35+ years.
    In the last section of the show, Adam pitches his new basketball movie idea. Peter also finds out what inspires Adam to make this particular story come to life, and the guys share their love of basketball and the film Breaking Away. Wrapping things up, Peter explains to Alison how he ultimately became better at telling to win.
