So many of you have been doing all you can to support local restaurants during this scary time. We love that. But unfortunately, for many restaurants, that’s not going to be enough. We hate that.

On this episode, we’re sharing what lawmakers are working on to save the restaurant business. Why Vicia’s Tara Gallina is sacrificing what’s left of her free time to support the cause, how you can get legislation moving and how this help could look a lot different than the CARES Act.

Plus, we have a lot of tasty food news to go over, including several new restaurants coming to the area. And, we have a variety of events you can safely check out this weekend.

Learn more and take action on the RESTAURANTS Act here.

Closed by COVID: What happens when a restaurant has to temporarily shut down? Aug 08, 2020
    Show notes

Almost since the beginning of when restaurant dining rooms were allowed to reopen, they’ve had to close, in many cases, after close contact with the virus that nearly killed the industry. Some shut down for a night, others until further notice, but all are dealing with the reality of doing business during a pandemic.

We talked to the owner of Herbie’s Restaurant in Clayton, who had to close his restaurant for 10 days this summer, to find out what happens when the lights go off, what us diners should feel around for and how they know what to do next when they’re largely in the dark.

Plus, we have big breaking news about a multi-million dollar food-centric development and a combo you and your furry best friend will love.
