Aaron is joined by his old friend Nick Coffey to discuss college football and college basketball, before a fun sit-down with Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner to close the show. Here is a full rundown.

    Nick Coffey joins to discuss football and hoops: Old friend of the show Nick Coffey (once a regular) makes his triumphant return to talk the biggest stories in sports. The guys explain why they're both optimistic that football will be back, and what it could look like when it returns. They then discuss why they each expect basketball to not only be back, but look somewhat normal. Also, do they believe that some media members are actually rooting against sports to return?

    Josh Pastner joins the show: Georgia Tech head coach Josh Pastner joins the Aaron Torres Sports Podcast to discuss last season's surprise Yellow Jackets squad and how he will handle big expectations after the team finished in fifth place in the ACC last season. Also, what is it like to prepare night in and night out for the best coaches in college basketball in the ACC, and what was it like to work under John Calipari? Pastner explains why his relationship with Coach Cal remains strong to this day. and the one job he believes Calipari would leave Kentucky for.

Jonathan Kuminga committed to the G-League, but Aaron explains why, after chatting with folks, he believes that some future stars will bypass the program for college. He then names his off-season winners so far, a list that includes Kentucky, Arizona, Michigan State, Arkansas and a handful of other college hoops programs.

    Ivy League cancels football - what does it mean for major college football and hoops Jul 09, 2020

    Clemson Football, Bill Self suing the NCAA and New NBA Draft Rules Jun 22, 2020

    It's Monday, the big news keeps rolling in and Aaron reacts to it all on this edition of the Aaron Torres Podcast. Aaron opens the show by discussing the outbreak of COVID-19 at Clemson and what you need to know, before transitioning to Ohio State and Alabama scheduling a home and home. Then he discusses Bill Self's bizarre attempt to sue the NCAA, and how new NBA Draft rules could impact Kentucky's Olivier Sarr. Let's get to the rundown of today's show.

    Clemson Football and Covid: Aaron opens the show by discussing the scary headline that 23 players tested positive for Covid at Clemson (4:30). He explains that, while scary, if you stick to the facts, we could have seen this coming. Also, why players getting sick on campus is not the worst thing. He then transitions to Alabama and Ohio State scheduling a home and home football series - and why he believes there is a bigger story with those two games that no one is talking about (22:00).

    College Hoops News and Notes: Bill Self is at it again. He is apparently ready to sue the NCAA, a move that Aaron calls ridiculous and doesn't fully understand (32:00). And finally he talks about the NBA adjusting their draft deadline because of Covid which will actually allow them to re-enter the NBA Draft. While there was some trepidation early, Aaron explains why he doesn't believe it will impact Kentucky's Olivier Sarr or college basketball in general (41:30).

    NBA Bubble Trouble, Mike Gundy + Donyell Marshall Jun 18, 2020

He then welcomes Central Connecticut coach, UConn legend and 15-year NBA vet Donyell Marshall to the show. Here is a full recap of the show:

    NBA bubble trouble and Mike Gundy: Aaron opens the show by discussing the biggest topic in sports: The NBA bubble. He details the crazy restrictions and asks the question: With the entire country opening up including amusement parks, Las Vegas and more, is the "bubble" too restrictive? And is it all necessary?     Central Connecticut coach and former NBA player Donyell Marshall joins the show: Marshall and Torres two discuss the difficulties of coaching at a low major school, where Marshall and his players have to buy their own uniforms, sneakers and basketballs. He then talks about his glory days at UConn, playing for Jim Calhoun and alongside LeBron James in the NBA. He shares a crazy story from the night that LeBron scored 48 points against the Pistons in the 2008 Playoffs.

    NBA/MLB players out of touch + Oklahoma State coach Mike Boynton joins the show Jun 15, 2020

Aaron explains about how the NBA player's complaints about the "bubble" and MLB players arguing over money is proof they have lost touch with the common fan. Even with both set to return, do fans have the right to be mad? And why the player's actual complaints have nothing to do with health issues, but instead inconvenience.

    Oklahoma State head coach Mike Boyton: Aaron is joined by Oklahoma State head coach Mike Boyton to discuss his team's battle with the NCAA. Coach Boynton explains what his school was actually accussed of, and why he believes the punishment doesn't fit the crime. Also, is the NCAA lumping the Cowboys in with all the other schools caught up in the FBI probe? Finally, he explains the conversations that he's had with all his players including Cade Cunningham, and the choice that awaits Cunningham on whether to stay at the school, transfer or seek professional options.
