Episode 35: Punchdrunk Lovesick Podcast. Apr 17, 2017
    Show notes

This episode marks our first venture into the numerous extra tracks from The Bends era, starting with three songs from ‘94’s My Iron Lung EP; you’ll find some discussion over the superior production quality of The Bends vs. Pablo Honey, a surprising dust up over the chorus lyrics to Punchdrunk, and an intensive investigation into the identity of the mysterious mistreated Lewis. Plus, Anne recounts her experience seeing two back to back Radiohead shows over the weekend. * This episode is dedicated to the memory of Adam Brown. *

    Episode 34: Coke Babies?! Apr 03, 2017
    Show notes

We finish up the Pablo Honey era for good this week with a few extra b sides - considering possible secret diss track Yes I Am, subjecting Faithless The Wonder Boy to intense lyrical scrutiny, wondering where the heck the title Coke Babies even came from, and breaking down the transition between Pablo Honey and The Bends with in-between track Banana Co. Plus: a few emails give us the impression that Pop is Dead may have more genuine fans than we first believed...

Episode 33: Oh No, Pop Is Dead! Mar 20, 2017
    Show notes

Having completed our discussion on Radiohead’s LPs, this week we shift our focus to the band’s extensive b-side collection, returning all the way back to the Pablo Honey era with a few obscure early tracks and a notoriously ill-advised one-off single. You may learn about some songs you’ve never heard before, or rediscover a hidden gem! Either way, Anne and Ben have got you covered. Long live pop.

Episode 32: Your Nose Just Grows... Mar 13, 2017
    Show notes

It’s the second and final episode of Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, full of the insightful song discussions, irrelevant conversational tangents, and questionable punnery that you’ve all hopefully come to know and love from this podcast. By the end of this episode, TMB haters will definitely have come around to the album’s brilliance, and fans of the record already will love it even more! (This is not a guarantee.) As we’ve now reached the end of our full album coverage, next week begins our b-side series - get ready!

    Episode 31: Yesterday's Antiquated Chests? Mar 01, 2017
    Show notes

Finally, we’ve reached the last truly uncharted territory of this podcast - Thom Yorke’s second solo album, Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes. Anne and Ben are primed and ready to defend this underrated record to the masses, delving into Thom’s continuing relationship with electronic music and the album’s unconventional release via Bittorrent. Plus: is it really possible to officially determine the most depressing Radiohead song through science?

Episode 30: To Run Amok... Feb 13, 2017
    Show notes

The last Atoms for Peace-themed episode this week focuses on the last three tracks of Amok, including our mutual favorite song from the record. While Thom and Nigel are off DJing for Rag & Bone, Anne and Ben are debating song interpretations, discussing the time Ben heard Reverse Running live at a soundcheck, and questioning how the heck Thom ever ended up on a Twilight soundtrack.

Episode 29: Aw, Shucks, You Got Me. Feb 06, 2017
    Show notes

Yes, another episode of The Daily Mail devoted to Atoms for Peace has dropped (see what we did there?), this week turning to the middle segment of Amok. In addition, we discuss the crossover between Radiohead and RHCP fans among Atoms for Peace listeners, and ponder why Jonny Greenwood has yet to win an Oscar for his film score work. Ben also describes what it was like to meet Thom Yorke - twice! - after Atoms for Peace gigs.

Episode 28: And Before Your Very Eyes... Jan 30, 2017
    Show notes

It’s our first episode covering Thom’s side project Atoms for Peace this week, with the first three tracks from 2013 album Amok. Highlights this week: Ben’s experience seeing Atoms of Peace live seven times, discussion on generational differences between Radiohead fans, a grammatical epiphany, and the best Radiohead songs to soundtrack Nazi punching. Plus: Anne freaks out over Radiohead’s upcoming show in Portland, their first in over 20 years!

Episode 27: Listen To Your Heart... Jan 20, 2017
    Show notes

...or listen to this, the latest episode of The Daily Mail! It’s The King of Limbs part 2 this week, where we reflect on the album’s current legacy, remember where we were the first time we watched the iconic Lotus Flower video, and try to figure out why we interpret the second half of the record so differently - plus some day-early speculation on the now confirmed US live dates. (We also somehow go off on a tangent about Star Wars at one point, so spoilers for Rogue One abound!) And if you think this is over, then you’re wrong - the podcast continues from here on out with Atoms for Peace, Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, and Radiohead’s extensive b-side catalogue.

    Episode 26: A Universal Sigh. Jan 13, 2017
    Show notes

We're back! Our first episode of the new year delves into Radiohead’s first and only “newspaper album”, The King of Limbs. Often maligned and misunderstood, we discuss TKOL’s transitional position in the Radiohead canon and offer our own personal defenses for the album we both love. Anne wrestles with her thoughts on Bloom in the studio vs. live, while Ben tries to convince her that Radiohead will tour beyond Coachella this year. All this means it’s another long episode after a long time away.
