Hello dear friend. Have you ever heard of the quote:Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why we call it 'The Present'
Tonight, we will use the word Present as representing the moment we are currently in. Together, let's begin by rooting our minds in the current moment - not the past, not the future, but right here, and right now.
Find a posture that is most comfortable and feels natural to you. At this point, keep your eyes open. Think about where you are and what you are doing at this moment. Say it to yourself. For example, you might say, "It's night time and I'm sitting down on my bed".
Breathe in and out slowly as you look at your surroundings.
Take a deep breath in <hold> and out.
Once more, take a huge belly breath in, hold, and out.
Now, pay attention to your thoughts. It is likely that you turn to your past or future. When they do, turn them gently back to the present moment by repeating our breathing exercises and noticing your breath more closely.
Continue staying like this for a few moments, breathe deeply, and close your eyes.
Now, spend a moment to note the things that are part of the present moment. It might be the sound of your breath, the warmth of your hands or the coolness in the air, or the softness of the surface where you are sitting or lying down.
Ground yourself in here.
Now, take a minute or two for gratitude. Draw inspiration from all these things around you.
Give thanks for being where you are today.
If you haven't already, now is the time to surrender to the present moment and lie back, comfortably on your bed.
Feel the earth rise up to meet your back. Feel supported and grounded.
Continue to settle in and deepen your breath.
Inhale through the nose, hold, and let a long breath out through the nose or mouth, your choice. Do this a couple of times more, at your own pace.
Tonight, I will read to you a short story about valuing the present. It is entitled
