EPISODE 27 - What Lies Beyond the Pussay (What Lies Beyond the Veil)

This week hosts Briony, Georgia and Ellie discuss Harper L. Woods’ “What Lies Beyond the Veil”, a supposedly spicy ACOTAR with giant fae peens, a man with suspiciously soft hands and orgys to commemorate a dead kid. What more could you want?

The girls have an interesting take on the love interest with his massive shlong and fish feeding tendencies, and discuss the journey of MC Estrella as she escapes the patriarchy with the help of her brother, bland bran.

EP 26 - 2 Shlongs For The Night (Theirs for the Night) Jul 06, 2022

Show notes

Happy hump day! We’re back with another one of Georgia’s smutty recommendations, this time it’s a 69 page book by our beloved Katee Robert, Theirs for the Night.

We follow our girl Meg as a broke college student who decides to let her hair down on her 23rd birthday. We follow her whirlwind of a night, which is being filled with unexpected but highly appreciated surprises (Specifically there are two unexpected surprises that will be filling her orifices).

Buckle in for a book about one night of steamy fun and some MMF action my friends.

EP 25 - Ellie likes clock (The Night Circus) Jun 30, 2022

Show notes

On this week's episode, we are covering the fantastical tale which is Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

We follow Celia, Marco and an ensemble of extras, including an Edible Ethan and dickhead daddy ghost, as Marco and Celia compete in a magical competition. We fall head over heels in love with their love story so prepare for an unusual episode.

We also issue an apology to the author as you have written a beautiful book but we are perverted. Soz broz.

EP 24 - The Power of Brunch, Fire Noodles & Blue Eyes (Song of the Marked) Jun 22, 2022

Show notes

Hosts Georgia, Briony & Ellie are back with a much-needed fantasy palette cleanser this week!

Song of the Marked - book 1 of the Shadows & Crowns series by S.M Gaither was certainly a crowd-pleaser. Especially a certain blue-eyed character who the girls envisioned as Henry Cavill, need we say more.

With fire noodles, a pandemic-like sickness, speedy zobbies, and an unfortunate fire incident - this book was action-packed with lots to discuss!

EP 23 - Don’t F@%k Your Uncle (Credence) Jun 15, 2022

Show notes

We’re sorry in advance - this week your hosts Ellie, Briony and Georgia cover the (almost) incest filled book by Penelope Douglas, Credence. We follow the life of Tiernan, a girl with an unfortunate name living an unfortunate life after her parents voluntarily yeeted themselves from the chat of life. Our MC Tezza then goes to live with her estranged step-uncle and cousins in their isolated mountain cabin where things get a little… unusual. We meet many characters through this book, Mazza, Terry, Uncle Charlie Hunnam and cousins Lleyton Hewitt and Creepy Thin Man (who likes to sniff hair). AGAIN, we apologise for how unhinged we are in this episode. Ellie’s T Swift moment: There’s no song for this book - just listen to the playlist provided by Penelope x

EP 22 - Atlantian Magic Stick (FBAA) Jun 08, 2022

Show notes

On this week’s episode, we are covering one of the chonkiest books yet - From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout.

We follow one of the many Poppy’s that we have discussed on the podcast as she leaves behind a life of purity culture and follows a handsome man with dimples into the smutty abyss with the help of Georgia’s diary - WE MEAN THE DIARY OF MS WILLA COLLINS.

There is also somehow zombie dobby? Unsure how we got here but what’s new with this podcast.

Also prepare for Briony to be red wine drunk for the first and possibly last time.

The Non-Episode, Episode (BTS content) Jun 01, 2022

Show notes

Welcome back to another week of absolute shambles with the girls at A Book and A Bev.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the From Blood and Ash episode you were all expecting to be uploaded tonight due to some technical difficulties. Because of this, we have been delayed by a week!

To make sure you guys didn’t get a total no-show this week, we’ve put together some never before seen/our favourite bloopers from all of our episodes so far!

For a better viewing experience we suggest watching the YouTube version of this episode

Thank you for your support and understanding as always. We will be back Wednesday next week as scheduled for the From Blood and Ash episode!

EP 21 - Q&A / Fishbowl Additions May 25, 2022

Show notes

We're 20 episodes in so what better time to go through more book recommendations to add to our fishbowl!

Hosts Briony, Georgia, Ellie and Claire add in their book recommendations for future episodes and answer listener questions. We find out what host vomited on another during when they first met, and discuss all the exciting things coming ... including butt candles?

Get excited for your book recommendations being added to the fishbowl and stay tuned to see what episodes we have in store for you next!

EP 20 - A Gaggle of Dicks (Sabotage) May 18, 2022

Show notes

This week Ellie, Claire, Briony & Georgia cover Shantel Tessier’s book, Sabotage.

Oh no step bro indeed, this one isn’t for the faint hearted. We have a long list of trigger warnings (that we suggest you read) and a serious case of degradation kink. There’s mentions of inappropriate usage of wine bottles, pussy slapping and a lot of butt stuff. We’re also not sure how but there are mentions of gnocchi in this episode too, and not the nice kind of gnocchi.

We’re sorry in advance for the chaos that is this episode, deciding to do shots on a Saturday night while recording really set the tone for the entire episode to turn on its head. And it did.

Ellie’s T Swift moment:

There’s no song for this book - so just listen to the playlist provided by Shantel in the book x

EP 19 - Nuns & Bums (Sinner) May 11, 2022

Show notes

Are you uncomfortable yet?? Well.. just hold on, because this week your hosts Briony, Ellie & Georgia are covering another smut buster. The second book in the Priest series, Sinner by Sierra Simone.

We follow Sean Bell (daddy Bell’s brother) and Zenobia, a soon-to-be Nun, and their relationship journey. Be prepared to feel uncomfortable, get whiplash between different plot points and remove all signs of Winnie the Pooh from your household, because this is a weird one.

OH, and there’s more household oil being used for very un-nun-like things……. You’ve been warned.

Ellie’s T Swift moment:

Ain’t Nun Wrong Wit It - Sprove (We do not recommend this song - it sucks)
