A Band of Gamers

Latest Episodes:

144 Horizon Zero Dawn, Little Deaths and The Real McKenzies Mar 14, 2017

Show notes

Joel, Shane and Karl review a game from one of their all-time favorite developers Guerrilla Games. The folks behind the amazing Killzone franchise. Does Horizon Zero Dawn impress them enough to play it as many hours as they did Killzone 3 during all the Sunday community nights?

Side B starts with a review of Little Deaths by Idle Bloom and gets festive for St. Patrick's Day with a new tune from Shane's local heroes The Real McKenzies. The ABOG attorneys are mentioned in Post Game specifically as it relates to all the copycat Band of Gamers. Find out why a greater emphasis will be put on the name "ABOG Podcast" going forward. This and much more in another episode of A Band of.... Err, ABOG Podcast.

143 Fire Emblem Heroes, Life Without Sound and Tigernite Feb 28, 2017

The guys play with their phones more than a Facebook junkie to bring you a review of the new Nintendo mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes. Joel wears out a coffee table and Shane leaves skin on his steering wheel drumming along to Life Without Sound by Cloud Nothings. Karl is busy maintaining his beard and calls out Tony for his one star reviews.

142 Induction, Live In Paris and Indonesian Junk Feb 07, 2017

Show notes

Joel, Shane and Karl set up their past selves to help their present selves in order to get their future selves where they need to be. Then Shane tickles a jar of mayonnaise. Starts with the most intellectual game they've ever played and closes with the least. In between there's a review of Sleater-Kinney Live in Paris and a tune from Indonesian Junk.

138 Headlander, Hardwired... to Self-Destruct and Devils Teeth Jan 11, 2017

Show notes

Joel, Shane and Karl give the record treatment to a video game. Like they do every episode with an album, all three guys will focus on one game and then share their thoughts about it on the show. They chose Headlander as the first and have a fun convo about it before reviewing, by listener request, Metallica's Hardwired... to Self-Destruct. Thereafter they play a tune from Devils Teeth and share some of their favorite live albums in Post Game.
