Vertex Interview DISCLAIMER Jul 26, 2016
    Show notes

Hey everyone. Ryan and I recorded this two days after the Vertex episode went live. It was recorded in hindsight after we were shown a lot of information that we previously didn't know in full. I've backdated this short recording so that it will show up in the feed in a way that makes sense in the future. The following show notes are taken from the notes for the interview itself. Ryan posted this episode on TGP and we took some hits for it. It got reposted and here's the result. At the time of the interview I (Steve) was only aware of the Axis wah issues (Ryan had completely forgotten about it), and not everything else that was detailed in Mason's TGP confession here. Shortly after that, Michael Landau (who was mentioned in the episode) made the following post here, and Vertex's story about board assembly is refuted here. Joe Bonamassa also has a story to tell here. There's also some back and forth on another site here. There are some really big red flags here that we weren't fully aware of. In the eyes of those who were involved with his past, Vertex/Mason is not a brand that should ever be trusted by the gear world. Those of you who are long time listeners know that we consistently err on giving someone a second chance when it comes to reforming their brand. For those who got burned, or watched others get burned in this debacle, the second, third, fourth, etc. chances have all been spent. Please check out the above links to get the background and history behind some of the stuff discussed in this interview. If you got burned in this, we'd love to hear your take. 124 - Kauerfest with Doug and Paul Jun 14, 2016
    Show notes

This episode was brought to you by Sinasoid - Pro Audio Couture. Go to their website and have some fun with their cable builder. It's great. We made this episode after a full day of Kauerpalooza, the open hours for Kauer Guitars and Rhoney Guitars. We sit down with Doug and Paul after hours while surrounded by a bunch of chuckleheads that stuck around and try to hammer out an episode. Of course, we get into some ads with our guests as we chat up a copy of a device called a Fat Head. It's supposedly the secret to tone or something magically scientific. Next up, we chat about barns and farms and barn tin, whatever the crap that means. Finally we settle into Doug and Paul's wheelhouse with some custom-finished Stratocasters. For this week's topic, we let Paul and Doug talk about the new products they were pushing at the party that day. We get to hear Doug wax poetic about Paul and really get in deep with the build up around the newest releases from this shop. This week's song was sent by Chris Brewer for his band Delorean Gray. The song is called "Sooner than Now". You might recognize it as the intro music to the podcast Less Than or Sequel To.
