The London GT IGNITED! - Ep. 62 Oct 02, 2024

Show notes

Welcome back to Episode 62 of the Fireside 40K podcast hosted by Vik Vijay & David Gaylard of Team Ignite. A huge shoutout to Aaron for letting us know about an initiative with the American Cancer Society called the 'Battle Against Breast Cancer' which is bringing together 25+ tournaments in the USA with live streaming from Tactical Tortoise, Wargames Live, Warpcharged Gaming and Tabletop Live. The primary way of raising money is a raffle - for more information and to buy raffle tickets, check out www.noveopenfoundation.org We're back from LGT, and couldn't be happier with a Team Ignite finals between Liam VSL (CSM) and Brian Seipp (Orks), with Liam managing to take the win to give him back-to-back LGT wins (insane!). In this episode we analyse the meta as a whole, how it presented itself at the LGT, reflect on our lists and our results at the event. We make some spicy fireside hot takes on chess clocks and what we think should be in the upcoming balance slate! Grab a drink, sit back, relax and enjoy the episode. See you by the Fireside, Dave & Vik

LGT tier list - Ep. 61 Sep 25, 2024

Show notes

Welcome back to Episode 61 of the Fireside 40K podcast hosted by Vik Vijay & David Gaylard of Team Ignite. Another year flies by and LGT is back! Dave, Vik and a bunch of Team Ignite are attending this year. To mix things up this episode, we thought we'd try to do a slightly unusual tier list. TO CLARIFY BEFORE THE INTERNET IMPLODES, the tier list we've done here is not ranking the strongest armies in the game, so if you've skipped through to the end and are about to shoot us an angry comment, read our method below. This tier list is going to compare the prevalence of factions at the LGT (the LGT Meta) to whether we think the overall player base (not just the top tier, but the entire spectrum of player skills/expectations) of that faction will overperform or underperform (on UKTC terrain). This was a super interesting discussion and we'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments! Grab a drink, sit back, relax and enjoy the episode. See you by the Fireside, Dave & Vik

The WTC Recap! - Ep. 60 Aug 13, 2024

Show notes

Welcome back to Episode 60 of the Fireside 40K podcast hosted by Vik Vijay & David Gaylard of Team Ignite. The World Team Championships (WTC) are over! New Zealand absolutely smashed it, pushing into the top 10, winning best sportsmanship and Dave coming out as the Rank No. 1 for individual rankings with his innovative Thousand Sons list. Team England had a worse time, taking some heavy losses across the event pushing them down to 7th place in the rankings. Join us as we run through how the event went for Team New Zealand and Team England, our reflections on how to improve for next year and our takes on how the teams/singles meta sits currently. Grab a drink, sit back, relax and enjoy the episode. See you by the Fireside, Dave & Vik

WTC Lists for Singles! - Ep. 59 Jul 24, 2024

Show notes

Welcome back to Episode 59 of the Fireside 40K podcast hosted by Vik Vijay & David Gaylard of Team Ignite. We’ve heard lots of talk in the community that because WTC is a team event it isn’t relevant for the singles 40K meta, and we’re here to prove that theory wrong! The WTC lists are a culmination of months of preparation from some of the best players from across the world. We run through the most represented factions at the event, how they sit in the meta and an example of a WTC list for each faction that you can consider for your next singles event. Grab a drink, sit back, relax and enjoy the episode. See you by the Fireside, Dave & Vik

Grab a drink, sit back, relax and enjoy the episode. See you by the Fireside,
