The brothers are joined by Dr. Theresa Givens of Da Bruhs Bookshelf and Eboni Taylor of the 5th Ward Houston Taylors for a 2 part special. We reverse perspectives in this wild episode. The ladies have to argue from the male perspective and the brothers try to argue from the female perspective. It's harder than you would think. We open welcoming the ladies and discussing Ariel being black now and the fallout from that. Razi gets into the spirit of the show as he jumps to the defense of PNB Rocks girlfriend. Buff briefs us on Brett Favre's welfare scam and his next job opportunity. Eb and Theresa rub all the football in Fergs face as the Cowboys and FAMU fell over the last week. Someone made a joke about Lizzo but we don't want that juju so we clean that up quickly. The discussion goes wild from the start as Theresa asks use to tackle the gender competition in relationships. We start a conversation around submission as well. The episode is a fresh take on normal conversations. Enjoy!
We return this week and almost forget we recorded on 9/11. Buff doesn't care because America already forgot. We open hailing the return of the NFL. Razi is excited about Disney's expo "D23," She-Hulk, and the return of Cobra Kai. Buff can't stop laughing at Turk and his interview on Drink Champs. He breaks down the high points. Ferg asks are we okay since the passing of Queen Elizabeth. We all were fine. Ferg is finally watching "The Wire;" the greatest show in television history. Shout out to FAMU winning 2 of their first 3 games. We won't talk about the loss to Jackson State (but of course we do). We only get 2 questions this week. Razi get's the first question and we discuss whether women should ask men for help early in the relationship in order to make them feel needed. Buff goes political and bluntly asks, "Why are so many high crime areas run by Democrats?" Buff and Razi don't see eye to eye on this one. We close reminding everyone to be prepared for the annual Shop in Style event in support of the Jennica Kimberly Memorial Scholarship at the University of Alabama. Buff reminds everyone that you either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain and Jay Z has lived a long life. It's a fun episode as we tackle real life situations. Enjoy!
Happy Labor Day. We are back and we dedicate the episode to Serena Williams on her retirement. We open singing praises to Rap Shit on HBOMax. We mention Florida State and FAMU playing, Coco Gauff and of course Serena. Razi gives a run down on The Lord of the Rings series launch and calls out the guy that took a lady out on a first date, spent $1000, and she had her ex boyfriend pick her up at the end of it. We also explain Bank of America's attempt to help promote ownership in Black and Hispanic communities with a 100% financing loan. Ferg brings up the water issue in Jackson, Mississippi and we send our thoughts and prayers to the people dealing with it. We jump into the questions and Buff asks does the messenger matter even when they try to tell us truths. Razi follows up and asks is Serena the GOAT of GOATs and, if not, who? We close asking for support for Jackson, MS and Razi has a heartfelt proud dad moment. Ferg closes discussing the student loan forgiveness and the backlash everyone is getting. It's a great episode as always. Enjoy!
We return this week and Razi is fired up. We open discussion the disrespectful "birth year" input scroll for the emerging elders. Razi gives a surprisingly spoiler free review of House of the Dragon and She Hulk. Byron asks for forgiveness on his Halloween Kills rant last year. We are excited for the return of college football; and we debrief the Student Loan Forgiveness announced by President Biden. Ferg endorses Kevin Harts new movie on Netflix "Me Time" and we discuss DJ Khalid's relevance. We have questions from you all this week. We start by responding to a post that says "husbands provide, roommates pay bills" and discuss being married and splitting bills. As we follow up the household income discussion we talk about a teenager old that owns the house charging her parents rent once she turns 18. Ferg sneaks in a question and wants to know how do we teach our kids financial responsibility. Its a great discussion and fun episode as always. Enjoy!
Ferg is in rare form this week and we are here for it. We open with a recap of Buff's trip to Chicago and he isn't pressed to watch the House of Dragon. Razi needs a smedium costume for Halloween. He gives a review of Jamie Fox's new movie Day shift on Netflix and the new Predator movie "Prey." Ferg cried during the Till trailer and loved Top Gun Maverick. We jump into the questions and Razi asks whether Beyonce is the new MJ or who could stand up to MJ if anyone can. Buff brings up Chris Browns latest legal trouble when he was accused of rape but proved she was lying. He wants to know what should be the penalty for false accusations of rape or sexual assault. We are back with and Razi nerd out on Sandman streaming on Netflix and then drops some financial tips around variable mortgages. And then he hips the brothers to the new toxic song by DVSN If I get caught. Buff has a lot to say. He brings up the Black Panther trailer, Rap Sh!t on HBO Max, Will Smiths apology, and regrets missing Serena Williams play since she is retiring. Ferg had a great wedding and appreciates everyone that participated in his vow renewals. Sky is too proper to pronounce M and M's and ferg found his new favorite sport: Air Guitar on ESPN 8 "The Ocho." Ferg starts off the questions and asks what white artists would be on our Mt Rushmore. We revisit a conversation we had last year where Razi asks is there a respectable way to cheat. Then we continue that episode as Buff asks if we should hold directors and producers to more diversity and positive images of black people. This brought back a lot of memories but was a great episode. Enjoy!
So the brothers are in Houston celebrating Fergs vow renewal and we invade the Gent Spot - a dope barber shop/bar in the city. We get to do a live show inside the barber shop and we jump right in. Razi asks the shop their best advise for budding relationships and marriages. Buff brings up a question that lights the shop on fire. He mentions Dave Chappelle pushing back on low income housing near his investments and asks would we want low income housing built across from our home. We get a question from Miles the barbers and he asks how do we know when to move from single to committed relationship to marriage. We enjoyed being together for this one and hope you enjoy the conversation.
We are joined by Kendrick (Woo) Wooten of Wooisms Podcast so hilarity ensues. Razi is not feeling the new resident evil and is going claving for the 2022 Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc Grand conclave. We close with thanking you all for the feedback on the mental health episode last week. Keep listening and tell a friend to listen. Enjoy.
July is minority mental heath month and the brothers are back this week with a banger. To our surprise we not only have no sense but we are apparently emotionally incompetent along with all men. Razi big ups Birmingham AL hosting the World Games and the new Dave Chapelle special on Netflix. We shout out Da Bruhs Bookshelf on their 4 part review of The Autobiography of Malcolm X. We close with prayers for one of our friends that had a health scare and celebrating better representation in children's cartoons. Buff says Trump was right about Mexico paying for border security. Enjoy the show!
McDonalds is for the kids. We had to talk about the mother that refused to let her baby daddy feed his son. Before we jump into that question though we have to scream congrats to Erica Barrett as she opens another restaurant. Razi is rediscovering Stranger Things and is tired of the gun violence. Ferg is excited for The Woman King with Viola Davis. We continue with Fred Maxie as we discuss who was right in the viral video that shows a father trying to bring food to his son as the mother refuses since he didn't bring food for all her kids.
