(September 18, 2019) Questioner (Q): I have a problem or I notice fear comes about in different parts of my interactions as I go throughout my day. And most specifically when I'm golfing, I get over a shot and I have, you know, what I wanna do with this shot. But when I go about the action of actually completing the shot, my mind goes blank. And I understand, you know, in golf, a lot of things in golf are connected to everything in my life. Questioner (Q): Hi! My father lives in California. He's older, he's disabled. He's not very healthy. And he's really strong in his faith in Christianity. So he has a really strong beliefs that president Trump is there because God put him there. And the only way [to have it end] is through Jesus Christ. [He's also disabled] and he has almost died many times. So I feel that his faith and a lot of other ways [is quite (inaudible)] and the life he has right now. On the other way when I go home, he asks me questions about am I saved, and what do I really believe and I find it really uncomfortable because I know what he wants me to say and I know that he's worried that I'll go to hell and I'm not born again. And also he sends me stuff on social media. Things that are like, Jesus was born out of a virgin, he rose from the dead, he did this Muhammad didn't do that and all that stuff that isn't helpful. And so right now up to this point I try to deflect, I try to be respectful, and I've tried to ignore. So I wan t to show up the best way I can for him, to honor him and also to ensure that I hold myself in a way that I respect him fully. And not feel just some sort of frustration.

전에 없던 욕심이 조금 많이 생깁니다 물론 뭐 금전적인 욕심도 생기지만 사람들하고 관계도 조금 더 많은 일을 하고 싶고 조금 더 기술적으로 좀 더 많은 셋업을 좀 더 하고 싶어서 욕심들이 생기는데 그 욕심이 주체할 수 없을 만큼 많이 커졌어요

#즉문즉설 #인관관계 #인연과 #법륜스님 제가 잘 지내고 싶은 사람들은 저보다 외향적인 성격이 많아요 저는 반대되는 성격이라 사람과 대화하는 게 어려운 부분이 많은데 그런 것 때문에 좋아하는 사람하고도 생각만큼 잘 못 지내고 꼭 좋아하는 사람이 아니더라도 다른 사람들한테도 생각만큼 제가 잘 못 하는 것 같고, 반응하는 것도, 대답하기도 쉽지가 않아서 사람 관계가 원래 이렇게 어려운 건지 아니면 제 성격이나 제가 조금 남들과 많이 달라서 그러는 건지 그게 알고 싶어서 질문하게 됐습니다

남자친구와 사귄 지 7개월 정도 넘었습니다 예전에 결혼하고 싶은 여자가 있었는데 부모님이 반대해서 부모님과 의절했고 결혼 트라우마가 생겨서 그 뒤로는 여자도 짧게 거의 못 만났었다고 하더라고요 그 트라우마를 해결할 수 있을 거 같고 너무 좋고 잘 맞아서 다시 만나고 싶어서 고민입니다

Ven. Pomnyun's Answer to "What Can Be Done for World Peace and Harmony?" Selection from a Dharma Q&A session at Bethesda Chevy Chase Regional Service Center in Washington D.C. (September 18, 2019)

Questioner (Q): This has been extremely educational for me. Thanks very much. I'm gonna raise this bar a little bit to the world peace. I like your [context] of Jungto and world peace and happiness. I would like your views and insight into what is the reason for the lack of harmony and peace. My thoughts are that is it because of the greed amongst people? Is it because of the envy that somebody else got more and I don't have it although I have sufficient but I want more? Or is it because I insist that what I believe you should also believe. And that is what is causing a lot of terrorism and unhappiness and cause war? So even if I'm at peace with myself, with all this going on around me, it becomes difficult because of the disharmony in the world. And I would like to hear your views and what can be done and what are you doing with your organization which is admirable work that you are doing.
