What’s Your Limp?

Host Jordan Ross is a differently-abled actor, born with Cerebral Palsy and Scoliosis. Because of his disabilities, he was a victim of vicious bullying and limited opportunities as an actor. However, Jordan’s role on THE CHOSEN, helped him learn to not just accept his circumstances, but embrace them. Now, Jordan’s goal is to help his listeners learn to embrace their own limps – turning their perceived weakness into a strength – one vulnerable conversation at a time. Jordan sits down with some of your favorite actors, singers, athletes and public figures to dive into their respective limps – whether physical or internal. So, What’s YOUR Limp?

The Forbidden City

Lincoln Center Theater’s Spotlight Series is expanding its programming to include audio presentations of largely forgotten plays that are deserving of a contemporary audience.

Set in Philadelphia circa 1936, THE FORBIDDEN CITY examines how the bonds of a middle-class Black family are tested by the specter of a tragedy that occurred many years prior in the Jim Crow South.

By Bill Gunn and directed by Seret Scott.

Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, a writer in LCT’s Beaumont New Play Commission Program, chose THE FORBIDDEN CITY to include in the Spotlight Series. A bonus episode featuring a conversation between Mr. Jacobs-Jenkins and director Seret Scott discussing THE FORBIDDEN CITY and playwright Bill Gunn, is also available.

The podcast will be available for on-demand listening through Sunday, May 23, 2021.

Full transcripts of the audio play and bonus interview are available at www.LCT.org

But as Hurricane Katrina begins her ruin, Ruth is forced to wrestle with all that she’s ready to let go. Directed by Lilly Award winner Candis C. Jones, SHADOW/LAND is the first installment of a 10-play cycle traversing the Katrina diaspora in an examination of the ongoing effects of disaster, evacuation, displacement, and urban renewal rippling in and beyond New Orleans.
