Patton’s Ghost Corp podcast is the true story told here by the WWII unsung heroes who cracked the Siegfried Line. In December of 1942, one year into WWII the US government created the Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP) Over 3,000 bright young men were recruited. These men were promised a college education, and officer posts after completing their active service. Shortly after they were recruited, the program was canceled and some were in the middle of basic training. They ended up on the front lines of WWII and were led by General George S. Patton. This was the 94th Infantry Division.
On any given day in Washington, DC, policy proposals are created, debated, and decimated by tens of thousands of people and organizations working behind the scenes. Each week one of these advocates and I will visit a DC watering hole and distill the art of advocacy by pulling back the curtain a bit and taking a look at how they play their part in this sausage factory we call our federal government. So, if you’re at all interested in how the sausage is made, pull up a chair, grab a drink, and join us for the next 30 minutes or so. After all, what goes better with sausage than a tall cold one?

Paid Leave is a hot topic in our country right now. The United States is the only industrialized nation in the world without a national paid leave policy, and Connecticut is one of only 13 states and the District of Columbia to have a state program in place. Other cities and states are working to join the paid leave movement. The Paid Leave Podcast examines the state of Connecticut’s paid leave program and the impact it has on various groups and diverse communities. Radio veteran Nancy Barrow interviews the people who fought to make paid leave a reality in Connecticut, and those who will ultimately benefit from the program. The states with paid leave include Connecticut, Rhode Island, California, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Massachusetts, Oregon, Maryland, Delaware, Minnesota, Colorado, Vermont, New Hampshire, Illinois, Minnesota and the district of Washington, D.C.
