Theories of Everything with Curt Jaimungal

Exploring theoretical physics, consciousness, Ai, and God in a technically rigorous manner. If you'd like to support this endeavor, then please visit the Patreon ( https://patreon.com/curtjaimungal ). Thank you for your charitable and kindhearted support. My name's Curt Jaimungal, a Torontonian with a degree in mathematical physics from the University of Toronto and I analyze various Theories of Everything from this analytic perspective, though more and more opening up to alternative approaches. The separating factor of TOE from other podcasts is its focus on depth even at the risk of limiting the audience due to how much detail we delve into subjects. Paralleling the intensity found in academic discourse, we're increasingly embracing a spectrum of unconventional ideas to conduct research during this podcast, rather than merely conveying existing information. Contact toe [at] indiefilmTO [dot] com for business inquiries / sponsorship. Read More

Third Wheel with Jenny Mollen

Jenny Mollen is someone who was never supposed to be good at commitment. Being the child of multiple divorces, an actress, and a Gemini, she had everything working against her. She once had a two year relationship with the foreign exchange student from her high school only after he left her high school and was back living in another country. When Jenny met her husband Jason, neither was looking for a relationship. They were young, naive, and had a lot more mistakes to make. It was most definitely NOT the time to commit themselves to a marriage that would go on to span the next fourteen years But, with a little luck and a whole lot of therapy, that is exactly what happened. Jenny still can’t believe she's found herself in a healthy functioning union. In fact, she’s still trying to piece together how it happened. Third Wheel with Jenny Mollen will explore this topic and more as Jenny pries into the private lives of her friends and other notable couples each week to get a sense of how and why their relationships work. We are talking about power dynamics, triggers, issues and more. This isn’t a “how did you keep the spark alive?” kind of interview – this is a deep dive into the real life-struggles and triumphs that make couples tick. Read More

All Relative: Defining Diego

Defining Diego is the story of one Guatemalan adoptee and his mother, a reporter who documented their journey from his earliest steps, as they try to understand how international adoption boomed and busted, and what it all means for families like theirs, with feet in two worlds. When Laurie Stern set out to adopt a baby from Guatemala in 1999, she thought the process would be pretty straightforward. Lots of people were doing it. But the adoption was held up just as she went to Guatemala to get her son, Diego. That began a journey of discovery. What unfolds is the story of why international adoption peaked — and then collapsed — in Guatemala. It is also the story of how Diego, now 24, learned to be a Maya man with deep roots both in his birth village and Minnesota, where he still lives. Now, Diego has questions about his adoption, too — like why tiny Guatemala was such a popular choice for many adoptive parents in the U.S. and Europe in the early 2000s. As one of more than 50,000 Guatemalan adoptees, Diego’s still figuring out what it means to be Guatemalan, American, indigenous Tzutujil, and an adoptee raised by white parents in St. Paul, Minnesota. At its heart, Defining Diego is a deeply personal narrative: of a mother and son grappling with big questions about identity and health, and the meaning of home and family. Using 20+ years of the family’s archive recordings, we hear Diego grow up — and begin his own journey of self-discovery. Season 1 of All Relative — known as BioHacked: Family Secrets — focuses on the fertility industry and how the now-adult children of anonymous sperm and egg donors are trying to change the baby business.
