Mating Matters

Host Dr. Wendy Walsh uses science, personal interviews and pop culture to reveal that mating strategy is the secret evolutionary motivation for most every human behavior. We are wired to reproduce. Even when we are not thinking about sex, our ancient programming makes us respond to reproductive cues that impact just about every decision we make. Using evolutionary psychology, Mating Matters examines relationships, sexuality, and how society and culture shape us all. Dr. Wendy Walsh looks at the biological, psychological and sociological underpinnings of love, attachment and gender dynamics. Visit www.DrWendyWalsh.com for more.

Please be aware this podcast talks scientifically about topics that include sex, violence and other aspects of the human condition that may be challenging. Adult language is used periodically.

The Double Shift

This year, The Double Shift will focus on IRL community building with a new initiative for 2025 called The How to Find Your People Club. Club members will get years-early access to some of the groundbreaking ideas and tools I’m developing for my book, which will be published by Penguin Random House in 2027. One of the benefits of club membership is audio newsletters, where I read my newsletter so you can listen on the go. Over the next year, this newsletter will feature public posts on topics like the difference between community and friendship, how to break free of gendered time constraints, wildly unexpected places to find meaningful connection, overcoming anxiety around social settings, and how important dinner parties are for foraging relationships (and how to throw one without getting overwhelmed) This feed will be occasionally updated, but for regular audio content, Come join the club over on substack for a private, members-only feed! Join us! https://thedoubleshift.substack.com/. The Double Shift from 2019-2022 was a narrative show to challenge the status quo of motherhood in America. Please enjoy our free archive of over 35 episodes.

BIOL 121: Anatomy & Physiology I – Rob Swatski

Anatomy & Physiology I is an introductory overview of human biology, intended for pre-clinical Nursing and Allied Health majors who are in the early stages of their academic studies. Topics in this course include: basic body organization; functional biochemistry; cell biology and histology; the study of the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, circulatory, lymphatic, and respiratory systems, with an emphasis on normal anatomy and physiology with some clinical applications. I create my own videos using iPad Pro, in which I explain and illustrate essential anatomy and physiology concepts in order to enhance students' learning in both the lecture and laboratory. Most of my videos are under 10 minutes in length. I'm currently in the process of re-recording previous videos, complete with my own digital illustrations. Look for my A & P I course to go Public on iTunes U in 2017, along with the publication of the first in a planned series of multi-touch books. I hope you find my videos a helpful addition to your introductory human biology studies! Your comments and feedback are always appreciated. I love hearing from students around the world who have benefited from my learning resources. Thanks for watching and best of success to you in your courses!
