Root of Evil: The True Story of the Hodel Family and the Black Dahlia

When Elizabeth Short, also known as The Black Dahlia, was brutally killed in 1947, it gripped the entire country. More than 70 years later, it remains America's most infamous unsolved murder. Many believe Dr. George Hodel was the killer, thanks to an investigation by Hodel's own son. But murder is just part of the Hodel family story, one filled with horrifying secrets that ripple across generations. Now, through never-before-heard archival audio and first-time interviews, the Hodel family opens up to reveal their shocking story. In this eight-part documentary series, sisters Rasha Pecoraro and Yvette Gentile, the great grand daughters of George Hodel, take a deep dive into their family history to try to figure out what really happened, and where do they all go from here? Root of Evil is the companion podcast to TNTs limited series I Am the Night. Inspired by the true story of the Hodel family, the series stars Chris Pine and comes from acclaimed Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. Read More

The Dropout

Money. Romance. Tragedy. Deception. The story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos is an unbelievable tale of ambition and fame gone terribly wrong. How did the world's youngest self-made female billionaire lose it all in the blink of an eye? How did the woman once heralded as "the next Steve Jobs" find herself facing criminal charges - to which she pleaded not guilty - and up to decades in prison? How did her technology, meant to revolutionize health care, potentially put millions of patients at risk? And how did so many smart people get it so wrong along the way? ABC News chief business, technology and economics correspondent Rebecca Jarvis, along with producers Taylor Dunn and Victoria Thompson, take listeners on a journey that includes a multi-year investigation. You'll hear exclusive interviews with former employees, investors, and patients, and for the first-time, the never-before-aired deposition testimony of Elizabeth Holmes, and those at the center of this story. Then, go inside the courtroom as 12 jurors decide the fate of the Theranos founder; three years after she was first charged, we find out how this saga finally ends. Read More

BIOL 121: Anatomy & Physiology I – Rob Swatski

Anatomy & Physiology I is an introductory overview of human biology, intended for pre-clinical Nursing and Allied Health majors who are in the early stages of their academic studies. Topics in this course include: basic body organization; functional biochemistry; cell biology and histology; the study of the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, circulatory, lymphatic, and respiratory systems, with an emphasis on normal anatomy and physiology with some clinical applications. I create my own videos using iPad Pro, in which I explain and illustrate essential anatomy and physiology concepts in order to enhance students' learning in both the lecture and laboratory. Most of my videos are under 10 minutes in length. I'm currently in the process of re-recording previous videos, complete with my own digital illustrations. Look for my A & P I course to go Public on iTunes U in 2017, along with the publication of the first in a planned series of multi-touch books. I hope you find my videos a helpful addition to your introductory human biology studies! Your comments and feedback are always appreciated. I love hearing from students around the world who have benefited from my learning resources. Thanks for watching and best of success to you in your courses! The Professionals Playbook

*Ranked a "2019 Top Podcast* This is a podcast that brings transparency to top performers, careers, and topics. My name is Hasard Lee. I'm an active F-35 fighter pilot for the Air Force. One of the most important lessons I've learned is that you have to be selective with who you listen to--there's a lot of noise out there. The goal of this podcast is to find experts who are at the top of their field to share their insights based on credibility and experience. About the Host:"Major Lee has 9 years of experience flying both the F-16 and F-35. In 2016, he was selected as the 'Top Instructor Pilot of the Year' for the Air Force's largest F-16 Combat Wing. In 2017, he returned from Afghanistan where his squadron dropped the most ordnance since the opening days of the war. He's flown 82 combat missions and has 4 Air Medals." Read More
