Everything They Missed

It starts with a name. A name whispered in an interrogation room, scribbled into police reports, passed along like an absolute that seemed to solve everything—too neatly, too quickly.

Then it was a truck. A checkbook. Fingerprints. Suspects. Lies. Like a deadly game of Clue, the very pieces you’d expect to matter most were the ones that slipped between the cracks. And in August 2007, when Danny Harris — a father, veteran, and lifelong Tennessean — was found brutally murdered inside his Memphis apartment, the case faded into silence. A story the public never truly heard—until now.

From StephTown Studios, host Stephanie Tinsley has spent the past year retracing these pieces—talking to unheard voices, convincing people to come forward, and bringing to light Everything They Missed.

Julie’s Gone

Julie Ann Garciacelay was not quite 20 when she vanished from her inner-city apartment in Melbourne 50 years ago.

Three men who were with her that night in July 1975 told police the young American left to make a phone call and didn’t return. One would be linked to the infamous Easey Street murders 18 months later.

Julie has never been seen since, nor has her body been found. Her disappearance is one of Australia’s oldest, most haunting ‘cold cases’. But investigative journalist Helen Thomas has unearthed new information about her vanishing - so far from home, almost lost in time…

Seeing the full picture – Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research

‘Seeing the full picture’ is a special podcast series about systems thinking for health systems strengthening from the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research. It was developed with the George Institute for Global Health.  System thinking is described as a way of seeing; an approach towards problem-solving that considers problems in the context of the wider system and places an emphasis on the interdependencies across systems components, instead of focusing on individual components on their own. It is applied widely in different industries and holds significant value for strengthening health systems. There are five episodes in the series:  Episode 1 – Alliance foundations in systems thinking: Why then, what now?  Episode 2 – Background to systems thinking;  Episode 3 – The science -and art - of systems thinking in health;  Episode 4 – Low and middle-income country experiences in systems thinking;  Episode 5 –  Systems thinking: political and policy challenges.  Each episode is approximately 45 minutes, to enable in-depth conversations around key topics.  We hope this series will inspire you to consider the relevance of these approaches in your work, and that listeners will go on to be part of a new generation of practitioners and researchers advocating for the importance of systems thinking in strengthening health systems globally. How to Be Anything

How to Be Anything is a documentary-style podcast that profiles people with unusual, surprising, and wildly specific jobs. From puppeteers to tower climbers to scientists who search for dark matter underground and in space, each episode explores how people end up in jobs no one tells you about in school—and what it’s like to build a life doing something most of us have never heard of.

This isn’t a self-help show or a career coaching podcast. How to Be Anything is for the job-curious, the creatively restless, and anyone who likes eavesdropping on someone else’s weird path through life. It brings a literary, documentary sensibility to work and identity.

The show is created and hosted by journalist Emily McCrary, and it blends deep curiosity and narrative storytelling to explore the stories that go beyond job titles.
