Ep. 108 | Why Duck Hunters Need to Stand Together | Waterfowl Roundtable Aug 19, 2026
    Show notes

This week on The Voice of the Duck Hunter, some of the biggest voices in waterfowl come together for a special roundtable recorded at the Delta Waterfowl Duck Hunters Expo. Joel Brice, Ramsey Russell, Jeff Stanfield, Jon Sandvik, Billy Campbell, , and Joey Vassallo sit down for an important conversation about something that affects every duck hunter—the need for a stronger, more unified waterfowl community.
From public land competition and social media negativity to declining habitat and hunter recruitment, the group digs into why duck hunters can be so hard on each other—and what needs to change. They discuss the unwritten rules of public land hunting, respecting fellow hunters, welcoming newcomers instead of running them off, and why the way we represent waterfowl hunting matters for its future.
The conversation also explores how duck hunting has changed over the decades. Better gear, shrinking habitat, increased hunting pressure, fewer secret spots, and easier access to information have all changed the experience. But despite those challenges, everyone at the table agrees on something simple: duck hunting is stronger when duck hunters stand together.
They also discuss the importance of introducing new hunters, getting kids into the field, protecting the resource, and ensuring the traditions we value today are still here for generations to come.
At the end of the day, everyone at the table shares the same goal: more ducks, more opportunities, and a stronger waterfowl hunting community worth passing on to the next generation.

Field Notes: Delta Waterfowl Takes Action to Protect Wetlands & Duck Hunters | Episode 04 Aug 10, 2026
    Show notes

In recent weeks, Delta’s policy team has worked with conservation partners, lawmakers, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and more than 220 Delta chapters across 44 states to reinforce the importance of protecting these wetlands. These easements provide habitat for an estimated 1.7 million breeding pairs of ducks and were built in large part through the investments of generations of duck hunters.
In this update, we break down what’s happening, what Delta has done, and why protecting these wetlands matters for ducks and duck hunters for generations to come.
