SFR 541: Notes From Underground Jan 22, 2021

–SFR is back! No server, no real iTunes, no fucks given. We’re available on our website via the Dropbox link.
–What have we been up to during the time away? Jason considers himself the Universal Constant. If you’re time traveling, use him to keep yourself tethered because he’s always the same as the last time you talked to him. Bobby took up sports betting, having good days and dreadfully bad days along the way. Jason joined him along the way but has since ceased losing his money to crappy websites.
–We discuss the new Night Stalker documentary on Netflix. We each wish there was more Night Stalker involved, agreeing that it should be been edited down to a tight 75-90 minutes or so.
–That reminds us of the potential serial rapists & killers we know, and they just happen to be related to Bobby.
–The incredible story of crazy Cousin Junior. I don’t even want to give away what you’re about to hear.
–We would be remiss if we didn’t talk about the new president in office, Joe Biden. Jason hopes that the people who lost their minds over the last 4 years gain some semblance of a personality again.
–Jason, the self-proclaimed Secretary of Snacks (always waiting for his official government appointment) that the Geico Tag Team ice cream commercial is the first step to heal the nation. Trump is gone, Biden is in, and we don’t know how that will turn out. But we do think it is impossible to feel stress while watching them parody their hit song with while making sundaes.
–Let us now bask in our own glory while we share with you nearly a half decade worth of our predictions that came true.
–Bobby had a tooth pulled recently and it was quite an ordeal.

SFR 540: Twenty Twenty-Four Nov 16, 2020

–Jason was confused by a text Bobby sent him earlier, so Bobby has to explain about the Nelson’s newest foster child.
–Though we don’t exactly do a “paranormal talk show” any more, Jason still hunts for paranormal stories. This leads us to talk about the kind of topics within that peak at certain times, while others are here year round.
–Bobby is in full on Christmas mode, with his tree up and jamming to the music. Still, we can’t leave out Thanksgiving because Jason loves a holiday all about eating. We lament that there aren’t more Thanksgiving movies.
–Bobby has injured his mouth with a toothpick and must see a dentist bright and early.
–We swap a few stories about our own doctor and dentist experiences, but Bobby relays a procedure his dad has to undergo that is just a tad scarier.
–Covid is never ending. In fact, Jason has decided that whatever the news media and public health officials say, he is going to assume it’s actually a level or two worse.
–Bobby has replaced one obsession (his health) with another, fixating on Trump and political news. We share a few thoughts about the ongoing claims of election fraud, and what the outlook is for 2024.
–Jason is looking forward to the new John Douglas book, because it brings together two of his lifelong interests: true crime and white nationalism. Meanwhile, Bobby is awaiting the arrival of new autographs he has coming.
–Bobby gets a new doorbell at a discount, but ends up having to spend the savings and more to have an electrician install it.

SFR 539: Renegade Radio Nov 09, 2020

–Where have we been? Well, within the last month, we managed to get suspended from our webhost and server, and Bobby (and family) all got COVID. How has your month been?
–After the alternating funny and disgusting stories, we reiterate how to listen to the podcast for those who want to continue tagging along with the nomads Jason and Bobby.
–While we were away, James Randi died. We share what he meant to us, as well as our memories of getting the chance to interview him a few different times on this podcast.
—Alex Trebek, too, has died. We talk about how not only was he the perfect host for Jeopardy, always making knowledge cool, he also handled his illness in an incredible way.
—The election, seemingly, is all over but the crying. And there’s still some crying left to do. We talk about some of the crap we got from listeners over the last year and a half over our political prognostication. Bobby takes his victory lap, ensuring us all that he is not, nor will he ever be, a humble winner. Jason cautions those who believe “everything will be fine” now that their preferred candidate won, and explains while he will never believe in a fair and impartial mainstream press again.

SFR 538: Kissing Corpses Oct 13, 2020

–Strange Frequencies Radio is back in your life, continuing Werewolf October, and talking a bit about its origins.
–Bobby has a basement dweller and he is hiding in a corner. Jason talks about an epic battle with a creepy crawler of his own that still chills his spine to this day.
–Knoxville man attempts to “resurrect” his grandma, according to a headline. But Jason sort of wonders if a few elements in the case suggest a different explanation.
–WTF moments including a (possibly true, possibly not) recurring dream about a man’s dead wife drowning in her grave, and a nearly decade old video of a man unveiling and kissing (who he purports is) his dead, decaying grandma in her casket.
–Bobby reviews the Hulu series MonsterLand. And by review, we mean he just tells you everything that happens in a couple episodes. So, ya know, spoiler alert.`
–Jason recommends a couple true crime documentaries making waves, A Wilderness of Error and American Murder. Both involve men serving time for an eerily similar crime: the murder of their pregnant wife and two young daughters. The difference is the levels of brutality involved.
–Listener topics: the Freqs want us to talk about the trailer of a new movie called Fatman, Gef the Talking Mongoose, and we answer a couple political questions. –We quickly recap the VP debate, but it’s either a shame or just a sign of the times that the thing many will take away from it is a fly on Pence’s head.

SFR 537: Small Town Monsters Oct 05, 2020

–SFR is in your ears, and It’s Werewolf October, our favorite time of the year! Expect talk of monsters and other creatures throughout this episode and repeating throughout the month. As it should be!
–Bobby bought the latest Halloween sequel to rewatch and found himself liking it. Jason remembers how we criticized it after our theatrical viewing, but also thinks time has healed the wounds.
–A look back at the last week, including the “debate” and Trump testing positive for COVID-19 and being hospitalized. We give you a few pros and cons from both sides of the political aisle.
–Bobby defends Trump from death threats and hate regarding his COVID diagnosis.
–Jason is begging to get to listener-submitted topics, so off we go. We go through everything from pedophilia and 2020 being God’s punishment to guns and shoes. Yes, shoes.
–Is a robot being built at Area 51? One “UFO expert” seems to say so. But we end up talking about games we played with friends or siblings that involved undercover missions.
–Choose your fighter! We pick through a chart of cryptids and decide which monster would win in a round-robin tournament. But, as Jason says, he has a soft spot for the small-town monster (or at least those that sound like they are). So we finish the show talking a bit about the Ozark Howler and the Cabbagetown Tunnel Monster.

**SFR 536: What’s Going On?** Sep 28, 2020
–Back in the saddle, and back in your ears. It’s been a few weeks, but we’re glad to be with you.
–The reason for our absence? As explained on our Facebook page, Bobby had a sick wife and a grandma dying simultaneously. Bobby shares some memories of his late grandma, Jason tells a story about the time her eyes pierced his very soul, and then we somehow laugh about crying.
–We’re winging it here, so the topic of Bobby’s brother-in-law’s eating is a sight (and sound) to behold.
–Ruth Bader Ginsberg dies, so here we go again. The Republicans are moving fast to replace her with Amy Coney Barrett and there is hypocrisy in spades
–Next, we talk about some potential Doomsday-style scenarios with the election, lawsuits, recounts, and tie votes in courts.
—Trump’s tax returns have come out, and we laugh about Trump’s write offs for his hair care. Bobby believes this issue will play negatively for those on the fence, while Jason gives his advice for both candidates as they head into the debates.

**SFR 535: Solving Sightings** Sep 08, 2020
–Just before we started recording, we had a conversation Jason asks Bobby to continue here on the podcast. Namely, how Bobby got roped into helping his daughter with her last minute homework.
–How old were you when you had your first male teacher? Bobby was in 6th grade, Jason was in 7th. Jason talks about how, fairly or unfairly, male teachers for young kids sometimes get a reputation as being gay or pedophiles. We then proceed to talk about how some of the first male teachers in our lives were busted for possessing and/or distributing child pornography.
–Uncomfortable conversation time. Is pedophilia a mental disorder? What if it is just a kind of sexual orientation like homosexuality? Would it have to be accepted?
–Jason gives an enthusiastic recommendation of Cobra Kai, a show Bobby has maybe seen 15 minutes of before becoming bored. Jason tempts fate by saying he may like it more than Stranger Things.
–Bobby regales us with stories of his recent time at the family lake house, why he doesn’t enjoy the beach, and instead prefers to sit inside and watch movies.
–SOLVING SIGHTINGs: We take a look at s3e01 of the 90s paranormal television newsmagazine, Sightings, and give our thoughts on the “Heartland Ghost” aka Sallie House episode of the show.
–We veer off and reminisce a bit about our ghost hunting days and why we, as opposed to most of our friends and fellow ghost hunters, we got more curious and the anomalous phenomenon we would run across.
–Back to the Sallie House haunting, and we discuss the time we interviewed one of the subjects of the alleged haunting, and she absolutely blew our minds with a horrible story involving a cat. You have to hear this to believe it.
–We end the show talking about how much we hate fake psychics, with a special amount of disdain for the late Sylvia Browne.

**SFR 534: The Joy of Being Scared** Sep 01, 2020
–SFR is back in your life! Bobby is on-call, and Jason is breaking bald. So before we get to the big issues, let’s cover a little older ground
—Facebook freaks at the amount of people on Pages and Groups dedicated to QAnon, so decided to ban thousands in an effort to “limit violent rhetoric.” Uh, I don’t think it worked.
—Is Netflix guilty of sexualizing kids? A controversy sprung up over the streaming companies marketing of a movie involving 11yo dancers. And Jason is creeped out by the fact it is rated TV-MA.
–If you enjoyed Unsolved Mysteries 2.0, get ready for more in mid-October. We didn’t enjoy it much ourselves, but will likely still check out the new bath of episodes.
–Bobby saw the new Bill & Ted movie, and found enjoyment in mindless dumb fun in the midst of real-world chaos.
–Also, he is slowly leading his middle daughter deeper into the realm of horror movies through Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, and Silence of the Lambs.
–Jason thinks Silence of the Lambs is more effective horror than most modern horror movies. Bobby agrees, and we then discuss a particular near-meaningless scene that has somehow played a huge role in our lives now for years.
–We decide to delve back into the paranormal a bit by watching old episodes of Sightings and discussing individual cases on Strange Frequencies. First up, the Sallie House haunting. Watch it along with us.
–Finally, we get into a bit of the Republican convention. Jason talks about some cringey moments, and moments that deserved a fact check. Then, before we could even get to the bigger speeches, like that of Tim Scott and Donald Trump himself, we get sidetracked.
–Police shootings are again in the news. Jason wants to devote a future episode to a rational discussion of the circumstances in which we feel it is acceptable or necessary for an officer to use deadly force. Using real life circumstances from popularly viewed video footage, maybe an open conversation like that can help.

SFR 533: That Goddamn Batman Aug 24, 2020

–We figure to get into the Democratic National Convention, but first Bobby unexpectedly gets into how much he hates the trailer to The Batman
–Since Jason missed most all of the Democratic Convention due to work, Bobby leads the way discussing his favorite and least favorite moments, with Jason chiming in a bit here and there based on what he watched after the fact.
–Michelle Obama’s speech got people hyped, but we turn the tables on it a bit, fact-checking her distortion about the “kids in cages” issue. Mainly because her husband’s administration built those facilities and used them for the same reasons.
–Bobby goes over the lineup for the upcoming Republican Convention which, yes, we will discuss on the next episode of SFR.
–Breaking News (at least while we were recording): Kellyanne Conway is leaving the White House, and her husband George Conway is stepping back from his Trump criticisms as well. Bobby talks about how they seem to have done it for the sake of their kids. Jason says, if he were in that situation, he would never have tried to create as much conflict as George did.
–Bobby fawns over Joe Biden’s speech, and Jason takes a moment to fact check the infamous “fine people on both sides” issue that Biden says led him to run. The truth is, Trump condemned the Nazis and white nationalists, and yet that distortion has continued now for years.
–Will Trump need a miracle to win the White House? Did he get a potential miracle with a coronavirus treatment announced recently? Bobby raises some skepticism about the proposed treatment, while Jason speaks out against the constant manufactured scandals, laments the continued lack of trust in the election process, and warns of anyone thinking their preferred candidate has the election wrapped up in August.

**SFR 532: Drinkers of Madeira** Aug 17, 2020
–Joe Biden shocked absolutely no one by picking Kamala Harris as his running mate. But at least the ticket is now official.
–We share our criticisms of the pick, with Jason beginning with her track record as a “progressive prosecutor.”
–Bobby, while at first thinking he may abstain from voting, or at least not vote for the Democratic ticket, has now rationalized it out of the fear of feeling like a hypocrite.
–Next, Bobby discusses voting by mail, as well as the ongoing problems with the United State Postal Service. Jason tries to provide some context and background to the issues, including the idea that there’s a bit of bullshitting going on.
–Bobby is fascinated with Alexander Hamilton and is creating a drinking and discussion club called the Drinkers of Madeira. The point is to be able to sip a favorite drink of the Founding Fathers, and rationally discuss important political issues. No duels, Jason hopes!
–Who are we voting for? While Bobby has more or less made his decision, even though he may have to hold his nose a bit, Jason is having trouble finding a candidate he feels is up for the task, has good leadership ability, and best represents his views. Suggestions welcome.
–We end the show with Bobby acknowledging that his own views have shifted away from the Democratic party in some areas, regardless of what way we end up going, we will still be “Drinkers of Madeira.”

**SFR 531: The Second Wave** Aug 10, 2020
–We’re back after a hiatus that lasted just over a month. There’s tons we have missed out on, but instead of trying to cram it all in, why don’t we just talk about whatever comes to mind? Starting with…
—USPS’s inability to deliver mail effectively anymore is what led to our longer than expected break. A part we needed to replace on the soundboard was held up for weeks. Jason talks about the problems in his neighborhood that have been going on for months, including misplaced deliveries, and a carrier who apparently faked a fall.
–So, what have we been up to over the past month? Well, for one thing, we finally saw each other face to face for the first time this year and exchanged the gifts we missed out on in months prior.
–Individually? Bobby is growing mushrooms in a box, he went to heaven when eating a kobe steak, then found himself in hell after getting a new foster child and dog. Jason, on the other hand, turned 40 after years of believing he would never make it, binging a teenage soap opera from Canada, and delving deep into Pizzagate conspiracies. Wait, what?
–This leads to a long discussion on the possibility of elite pedphile rings within Hollywood and the government.
–Buying school supplies is sending Bobby to the poorhouse.
–Is President Trump lobbying to be on Mount Rushmore? Jason reads his tweet that simultaneously denies the story, but also endorses the idea. This is why he’s going to miss him when he’s gone!

**SFR 530: A Long Way Down** Jul 06, 2020
–Jason’s July 4th was basically a dud, but luckily Bobby has somewhat of an exciting life to talk about.
–Bobby is rediscovering Roger Ebert, and recommending his book, Life Itself, all over again. Plus, he recently bought a book called The Noticer after a deep conversation with his father-in-law.
–America isn’t canceled yet. Because Joey Chestnut ate 75 hot dogs at the Nathan’s Famous Hotdog Eating Contest.
–A Bigfoot statue has come up missing from an Oregon family’s home, and they desperately want it returned
–A “statue” of Jeffrey Epstein appears overnight in front of City Hall in Albuquerque, NM. Okay, so it’s really just a mannequin painted bronze. But still!
–Another friend and “Freq” has passed away too soon. Tom “Boothetty” Jr., who was an avid SFR listener in our early days, succumbed in late May from an undisclosed illness. Jason talks a bit about his history with the podcast and, together with Bobby, share some of their favorite memories of him.
–Jason recounts a horrible traffic accident that happened this past week that had him thinking of “death’s design” and Bobby thinking of mortality.
–We review episode one of the new Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix. “Mystery on the Rooftop” examines the case of Rey Rivera, a man whose apparent suicide still leaves many unanswered questions and inconsistencies for those who knew him best. Could some of those inconsistencies lead toward a conclusion of murder? We weigh the evidence and share our thoughts.

**SFR 529: F Words Galore** Jun 30, 2020
–Jason’s mom says he swears too much on the podcast. This leads to nonstop swearing, then bitching about how cats have continuously tried to destroyed our show.
–Do deaths come in threes? Maybe not celebrity deaths, but apparently when it comes to Bobby’s home appliances, they do…
–Trump’s re-election chances aren’t looking good right now, and he seems to acknowledge the fact. One reason might be the coronavirus response. There’s still time for him to turn it around, of course.
–Joseph Deangelo Jr. is the Golden State Killer. Whatever slim room there may have been for doubt came to an end Monday when he confessed publicly to over 50 rapes and 13 murders.
—Bill Cosby has won the right to have his appeal heard before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Jason talks about the potential that he may get a new trial, or even have his conviction vacated and walk away free. Regardless of what happens, the #MeToo world awaits.
–When is a crime a crime? Bobby has what may be the dumbest argument in history with a friend online. Jason heard about it, went on a tirade, and stayed mad all night.
–Regarding the Confederate monuments, and Confederate battle flag. We give our opinions on where they should be or not be, and Jason gives an impassioned speech about the need to learn from, not destroy, history.
–The Bubba Wallace noose affair ended with a bit of a thud. Can we at least be happy there was not a racial scandal? Maybe there aren’t as many sneaky racists out there as we’ve been led to believe.
–In lieu of Solving Unsolved Mysteries this week, we instead prepare for the new Unsolved Mysteries coming this week on Netflix. We’re likely going to talk about each available episode over the coming weeks, so we hope you’ll watch along with us!

SFR 528: Puckering Buttholes Jun 16, 2020

–Sundays suck. Except for recording Strange Frequencies Radio, all we do is just think about having to go back to work the next day.
–The new Unsolved Mysteries is coming to Netflix on July 1st. But it has no host, and there’s only one case per episode. We aren’t liking what we’re hearing so far.
–Jason reads the episode titles and synopsis for the first six UM episodes, and there seems to be a theme.
–SOLVING UNSOLVED MYSTERIES
Bobby has been stewing on the Dannion Brinkley story for the past week. First, he asks Jason to recap the near-death experience as he did last week, then Bobby goes into an unsolved murder case that Dannion claims to have helped solve. Would it surprise you to find that we aren’t impressed by the account?
–Maybe you’re a skeptic, but have you ever had a premonition that ended up coming true? Bobby shares a psychic-style dream he had years ago, and how he saved his own life by remembering it in time. Pretty wild! We then share stories from the Freqs. After we get through the jokes made at Bobby’s expense, there’s a couple spooky ones!
–Most of us have an unpopular opinion or two, and some of us are afraid to express them publicly due to fear of public shaming or just taking shit about it. Well, not our audience apparently, and that’s why we love them! Some of the opinions shared are not only brave, but even funny at times.
–Jason thinks we are witnessing the ongoing birth of a new secular religion, complete with original sin, Bibles, excommunication and/or banishment, and penance, among other things. Even the way language is being used and manipulated is strange. Bobby gets more and more uncomfortable the longer he goes. Jason has mercy on him and closes out the show to avoid his butthole puckering up further.

SFR 527: Picked Up by the Paddy Wagon Jun 08, 2020

–We open the show this week celebrating the Ouija board and its 130th anniversary year. Bobby has an original. Seriously, one of the original produced boards. And the way he got it is almost unbelievable. But is sure makes Jason jealous.
–Should the government be able to mandate a COVID-19 vaccine? We hear from our listeners who have a variety of opinions, ranging from arguments based in personal liberty to public safety. Plus, hear our conversation on the differences between what is happening now, and how opinions and enforcement could change if a newer, deadlier virus someday emerges.
—SOLVING UNSOLVED MYSTERIES
We cover the story of Gordie’s Ghost, featuring a child named Heidi Wyrick, famed parapsychologist Dr. William Roll, and a couple ghosts. Not sure we “solve” this one as much as we just offer alternative explanations for the events depicted, but it’s still a good conversation.
–Despite Bobby now saying he wants to cover the Dannion Brinkley Near-Death Experience episode of Unsolved Mysteries next week, he couldn’t stop talking about it. So Jason chimes in with details from Dannion’s past that solidify contradicts his popular account. But maybe we’ll still talk more about it next week because there’s so much more to it than just an NDE.
–We’re not quite sure how it happened, but the last 30+ minutes or so of the show is us reminiscing about guests we’ve had (or not had) on the show, and how many of them infuriated us to a certain extent. The segment includes, but is not limited to: Lanaia Lee, Darwin Linn, Raymond Moody, and some fucking asshole whose name we can’t remember.

SFR 526: As the World Burns Jun 01, 2020

–Kicking things off with the issue on everyone’s mind right now: the death of George Floyd, and the protests, riots, and looting that has followed.
–Do you value someone’s life over property? Some might say yes. But a debate between Jason and Bobby ends up causing one of them to “do a 180” from their initial position.
–SpaceX “Launch America” was a success, and while Bobby didn’t care enough to bother watching, Jason thought it was the best story of the week. One bright spot in an otherwise dark week.
–These kids today stay inside too often and play video games, says two old men who host a podcast. But, if Bobby is right, and the children of the future will be “hanging out” with each other in VR simulations, what will their parents have to complain about?
–We are getting so old that our teenage selves would look at us with contempt. Jason talks about growing up a punk rocker, and now happily spending quiet evening listening to Brahms. Bobby’s wife caught him watching birds through a pair of binoculars. How much longer until he is staring out a window getting joy out of watching a dog poop? Our transition into the characters of The Burbs continues
–SOLVING UNSOLVED MYSTERIES:
We tell the story of the Circleville Writer, and the attempted murder charge that came of it. Was Paul Freshour really the culprit? Is there much more to the story that hasn’t been told? Next week: Bobby would like to delve into the Heidi Wyrick ghost story, as well as the story of Dannion Brinkley. –Back to the stories from the listeners. Jason is especially interested in how they approach their own experiences as skeptics.
–Here we reminisce about our ghost hunting days, including a story involving a typing ghost, and proof positive of a poltergeist that was ultimately anything but.
–Bobby relates a ghostly story involving his foster son that had him a little creeped out.
–Solving Unsolved Mysteries. Season 6 Episode 23, right around 30:30 into the show. –Tara Reade, the woman who accused Joe Biden of sexual assault, has seen her credibility take some major hits as of late. More and more people, it seems, are beginning to doubt her allegation.

SFR 524: Six Feet of Separation May 14, 2020

–Probably a shorter show tonight. We got a late start, and almost totally gave up, when “the good computer” was on the verge of crashing.
–Jason wants to check in and see how people are handling the pandemic. Bobby makes it clear he is not really ready for states to start opening back up, and fears the disaster he believes awaits. Jason isn’t panicking, and says now that the curve in states has flattened, there are ways to be safer. But you still have to be smart and take precautions, because this isn’t going to be over anytime soon.
–Is working from home going to be more common going forward?
–We then get into a whole discussion of workplace politics, how management can be creepy, and how people change when they get “a little bit of authority” at work.
–Jason brings up the “Plandemic” documentary that has been getting removed from the web, and how that has only encouraged him to watch it for himself. Bobby hasn’t heard of it, but agrees it sounds like a conspiratorial, unscientific mess.
–Finally, we talk a bit about the Ahmaud Arbery case. Jason doesn’t think there’s any way it ends well, regardless of what happens from here.

SFR 523: Socially Distant May 07, 2020

–Bobby is finally watching Breaking Bad, and Jason is so happy that he loves it. He loves it so much that he can’t stop talking about it.
–What makes a house look haunted? We have some ideas. See, there’s levels to these things!
–Is it really Kim Jong Un attending these recent ceremonies, or a body double? We examine some of the photos, and one thing stands out: Kim’s hair.
–We talk about some bad monster movies, but also some of our favorite monster stories as well. Jason regales Bobby with a quick retelling of the Werewolf of Defiance. AKA, a hairy guy.

SFR 522: With An Abundance of Caution May 01, 2020

–Last night’s saga of the crashing computer
–Bobby’s kids are afraid to go down in the basement. His daughter is just beginning to get into the paranormal, and he is pumped.
–Jason reminisces a bit about when was “woo” was fun. Ghost stories, UFOs, monsters…it was all better way back when.
–Marking the OKC Bombing and Columbine anniversaries that happened recently, and talking about the first major news story we remember. Bobby’s was the fear of nuclear war over fighting in Iraq. Jason’s was the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, and seeing his mom cry. Then we hear from the Freqs, and it is like a mini history lesson.
–The Gridlock protests are still going on to a degree, but they feel a little more flat and uninteresting as of late with certain states starting to slowly re-open.
–The sexual assault allegations against Joe Biden by Tara Reade are finally, after more than a month, starting to get more attention. We’re going to continue being as fair and non-partisan as possible as the story develops.

**SFR 521: So Very Stimulated** Apr 16, 2020
–This show is hanging on by a wire. No, literally. There is a short in the mixing board wiring, and Bobby had to bend it and place another piece of equipment on top of it to keep the connection flowing.
–How was your Easter?
–It was recently the anniversary of our dear listener, Jeffrick, passing away. We share a couple memories, though neither of us could remember his real name, including the time his wife contacted us to stop our monthly membership charge. Since we don’t charge a membership, we always figured it was his porn fees.
–Bernie endorses Biden, and Bobby is here for it. Jason said it was borderline sad to watch Bernie have to grovel and kiss the ring.
–When should we be opening the economy back up? It’s a question that requires forethought and care, but the people who are eager to get back to work are not crazy.
–Bobby’s kids are bouncing off the walls amidst this lockdown, and Jason remembers he is a genius for not having kids.
–NY Times finally reports on Biden allegations, some 19 days after the story broke. And the reasons given for the delay are complete and total partisan hackery.
–Jason and Bobby take some questions from the audience, and share some creepy stories. First up, Bobby talks about his daughter’s desire to be friends with a ghost. Bobby teaches Mr. Chicago how to summon a shadow person.
–Would we ever want to go to Salem, Mass? Oh, absolutely. And Proctor’s Ledge is one place in particular we want to visit.
–How we plan to be hometown heroes when this is all over.
–Our wish to participate in ghoulish tours has up contemplating taking one involving previous mob activity in downtown Toledo.
–Jason wants people to howl with him at 8pm.
–Bobby says that, in order to save lives, we should focus on the scariest parts of the coronavirus. For instance, how many people have contracted it…how many have died…etc. Jason, usually a cynical bastard, contends that sharing the good news occasionally (ie: how many are recovering) helps alleviate hopelessness and depression, and that most people will still make good decisions.

SFR 520: Blame Game Apr 09, 2020

–Who is to blame for the coronavirus pandemic in the United States? Many people would say Trump. We think that is far too simplistic. Jason prepared a list, and we go through it, debating and sharing ideas along the way. For instance, how much should we blame China? What blame does Trump deserve? How about the CDC and FDA? And where does impeachment fit into it all?
–Bobby brings up the prospect of a recession, and we talk about how pundits like Bill Maher, and a variety of liberals and progressives were actually rooting for one at one time because it could help defeat Donald Trump. Jason has a question: are they happy now?
–Coronavirus conspiracy time! We go through the list of what we’ve heard lately. It’s the 5G towers! It’s a reaction to the flu shot, so that the government can create a new vaccine that will track people! It’s not even real, it’s just a way to keep the masses controlled like sheep! It’s…it’s…it’s…
–Bernie drops out, and now is getting the fake praise from the establishment types who have hated him for years. Bobby takes his victory lap, since he has been “Ridin’ with Biden” from the beginning.
–We end the show talking about the sexual assault allegations former staffer Tara Reade has levied against Joe Biden, and compare them to those against Brett Kavanaugh. Plus, is it just us, or do people only #BelieveWomen when it’s politically convenient? Turns out it isn’t just us, as one particular #MeToo advocate has demonstrated.

–How have our diets changed from the time we were 8yrs old? Answer: they haven’t.
–Listeners have become concerned. So we explain the feud between Bobby and his archrival Nate Murphy.
–Jason talks about a couple of his bad jobs, and confirms Bobby’s belief that he had once walked home for lunch and never went back.
—Tampa megachurch pastor arrested for violating public health orders. Bobby says this is good, as do a couple of SFR listeners. But an exchange on our Facebook page between Mr. Chicago and Pterodactyl Mike highlights a point of disagreement worth examining.
–Jason says this is one time where the whole world (or at least everyone within the SFR audience) is all experiencing the exact same thing. So we spend some time here checking in on our mental health, as well as that of the listeners, and talk about how we’re dealing with it all.
–Bobby goes on a rant about how much he didn’t care for “Tiger King,” a Netflix docuseries currently sweeping the nation. Jason cackles along, his love of contrarianism fulfilled.

**SFR 517: Freakout!** Mar 12, 2020
–Bobby has reached freakout mode. Coronavirus is in Ohio. Jason, meanwhile, is cool, calm, and collected. He’s playing the odds, and knows there are things you can do to prevent illness.
—Biden has another big week, and Bernie’s odds of being the Democratic nominee continues to shrink.
–Bernie is vowing to fight on, despite admitting that his argument for electability is losing. This upsetting Bobby to no end.
—Alex Jones is arrested for DWI in Texas, and wouldn’t you know it? There is a conspiracy brewing. Jason thinks he was probably jacked up on his own Infowars supplements.
–The release of Corey Feldman’s sex abuse documentary is a fiasco, but at some have seen it. A previous allegation made about Charlie Sheen is now getting more publicity, and reaction is split.
—Harvey Weinstein received 23 years in prison, and is already back in the hospital. Jason calls it “Incarceritis.” But with another trial in California looming, Harvey’s problems are far from over.

Bobby talks about the sadness of it, particularly from the vantage point of being a father himself. Jason laments the excessive hero worship. But also, how did the Kobe narrative shift from potential rapist to a champion of girls?
–The Wuhan coronavirus is still in the news, and Bobby gives the latest updates. Jason asks if the fear and anxiety is proportional to the number of victims. For example, the flu kills far more people each year, and doesn’t get this kind of news coverage. Whatever your thoughts, be thankful for modern science and medicine, because this is the kind of thing that could have been a legitimate plague in centuries past.

—George Lopez caught the attention of the secret service for a joke about assassinating President Trump. Bobby says you shouldn’t make stupid jokes. Jason says George Lopez should name his next special after this.
—Ricky Gervais once again takes the piss out of the Golden Globes audience and we rather enjoyed it.
–We quickly talk about The Irishman, because yes, it’s really been that long since we recorded our last episode.

**SFR 508: That Old-Time Religion** Nov 21, 2019
–Good news! Bobby reinstalled all necessary programs on his Mac, and he seems to think the show sounds good this week. Plus…he’s getting a new computer, which we’ll be recording future episodes on. Keep your fingers crossed!

–There was a big controversy involving Bobby this weekend, and SFR listeners are outraged! So we get right to it. Why is Bobby sending a child to Catholic school? Has he gone to the dark side and become religious? Is he initiating his kids into a cult? Bobby explains what is going on, and Jason is interested to see how listeners react.
–Ohio House passes bill allowing students to be scientifically wrong as long as it is endorsed by their religion. Talk about scary.
–Convict dies briefly in the hospital, and claims that because of this, his life sentence has been fulfilled. Amusing, but Jason doesn’t buy the argument for a second. Neither did the court.
—Superbugs are freaking Bobby out. Should they be freaking everyone out? As scary as antibiotic resistance is, there is good reason to be calm.
–Epstein guards are being charged with forging government documents. Jason thinks this lends more credibility to his belief that Epstein did, indeed, kill himself. Bobby takes the opposite view, amusing Jason to no end with his pronouncements based on no evidence.

**SFR 507: A November To Dismember** Nov 05, 2019
–Halloween, for us, was fairly uneventful. We’re old. But the kids persevered despite the crummy weather and brought back loads of candy.
–Reports of razor blades being found in candy in Ohio has us scratching our heads. Though one report sounds just a tad suspicious.
–Bobby talks about a friend of his who worried about cultural appropriation at school around Halloween. Jason says that white liberals treat minorities as their pets, and most of this really comes down to the need for power and control. It’s not about trying to change minds, instead there’s always a punishment involved. –Jason does announcements, and Bobby helps put a new spin on them.
–Well the word around the campfire is that Epstein didn’t kill himself. We break down the latest from the perspective of Dr. Michael Baden, who thinks the evidence right now points more toward homicide, and from NY Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Barbara Sampson who stands by her office’s conclusion that it was suicide. We need to hear your thoughts!
–Next up is a little impeachment talk, since it appears the more private hearings are over, and the public hearings will begin soon. Bobby is torn on a few items, while Jason won’t judge until he can hear and examine the evidence, and not what certain politicians and media outlets are putting out to boost their narratives.

**SFR 506: Ghastly Screams** Oct 28, 2019
–There’s just a handful of days until Halloween and Bobby is thrilled about a Christmas ale he found.
–A family waiting for the End Times is discovered in a secret room in the Netherlands when one guy walks away and orders some beers.
–A Sandy Hook father has won a defamation case against a denier who published a book filled with malicious falsehoods.
–Are THC edibles being passed out to kids for Trick or Treat to make them trip balls? No. It’s an offshoot of an old myth, always prevalent around this time of year, where a boogey man poisons Halloween candy. Don’t buy into it.
–Bobby is now CPR certified, and can now save Jason’s life when he inevitably collapses after too many pizzas. That’s good! But the scary part is where he found traces of fentanyl are being located. In short, be extra careful in public bathrooms.
–Payton Leutner, the 2012 Slenderman attack victim, speaks out for the first time about what she went to, and what she thinks about her attackers.
–Is there a movie you have to watch each Halloween? The Freqs weigh in with their answers. Bobby always has to watch the original Halloween on Halloween. Jason doesn’t have one in particular, but thinks he’ll go with Sleepaway Camp this year.
–Bobby reviews the Creepshow tv series, now available on Shudder.
–A guy with a “Jesus Saves” runner’s bid collapses at a race, and a guy named Jesus helps save him.
–Edward Snowden was on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, and confirms that he could find no evidence of past alien visitation during his time as an intelligence analyst in the CIA. Also, climate change is real, chemtrails aren’t a thing, and the moon landing happened.
–We end with the deal of ISIS founder and leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and the idea of giving credit where credit is due.

**SFR 505: Ghostly Goulash** Oct 21, 2019
–Worried your new home may be haunted? A real estate firm in Charlotte is bringing in ghost hunters as part of the home inspections through Halloween. We discuss what the law says about real estate and hauntings, and talk about the potential marketing strategy behind this move
–Jason says he must have slept through the news that Zak Bagans purchased several Ghostbusters film props, including a ghost trap, jumpsuit, and proton pack shell. We marvel at the amount of money he has spent on stuff we admittedly find cool, plus: Bobby goes gonzo over a Gozer slip-up.
–Do ghost tours and ghost hunters disrespect the memory of the people they’re hunting? One article about the Pennhurst Asylum says yet. We talk about similar type “haunts” in our neck of the woods, but have differing experiences.
–Pew Research continues to show that religious affiliation in America is decreasing, while the “nones” are increasing. Is this good news? Jason doesn’t see the positive results yet. Meanwhile, Bobby talks about his recent experiences going to church himself.
–Last week, Jason promised he would do a quick El Camino review, as he was asked to do by Ian, and he does so. Bottom line: he doesn’t think the movie was necessary, and while he had some qualms with it, he was glad to see those characters again.
–Bobby cannot contain his excitement for the first look at the last of the Star Wars Skywalker Saga films, with a teaser set to come out Monday.

**SFR 504: Bigfoot and Brewskies** Oct 15, 2019
–Bobby and Jason open the show discussing beer, since we each got a bottle from our buddy Chris O’Reilly, whom we met at the Bigfoot convention this past weekend.
–We review the Toledo Bigfoot & Paranormal conference in full, from the moment we walked in, until the time we left. Included are the sights we saw and the uhh, smells we smelled. Ah, good times.
–Jason reviews the new paranormal show Ghost Nation which debuted on Travel Channel recently. You can probably guess he wasn’t a fan, but some of his biggest issues were with the technical aspects like editing and voiceover.
–SInce he’s been tracking it, Jason does a quick analysis of Ghost Hunters’ ratings over the past couple months, comparing it with recent seasons of Ghost Adventures, and the premiere episode of Ghost Nation. Which should has gotten the highest ratings lately? We’ll continue tracking to learn more.
–We end the show talking about the Ellen DeGeneres & George Bush friendship fiasco, including reactions from leftist celebrities. After exposing the hypocrites, we basically agree that a lot of people are totally full of shit on this issue.

**SFR 503: A Little About A Lot** Oct 07, 2019
–Fresh off Oktoberfest at the Nelson family abode, Strange Frequencies Radio is back. We’re still full from the beers and brats, but dammit we’re ready to go!
–Let’s start off light. Stranger Things has been renewed for season 4 (no shock there) and we’re not in Hawkins anymore. Plus, the Duffer Brothers have signed a fat deal to continue producing content for Netflix. What wonders might we have in store?
–Let’s talk fake hate/bias crimes again. We mention two, one involving a 6th grade black girl who lied about three white boys cutting off her dreadlocks, and another here local to us about a black mother blaming a “white bitch” for an attempted kidnapping.
–Bobby, an unabashed Star Wars nut, is very upset after seeing Mark Hamill took a big dump on Ivanka Trump after she shared an image of her young child in a stormtrooper costume. Jason bemoans the divisiveness, where not even images of kids are safe from rage due to political squabbles.
–Bernie Sanders suffers a heart attack on the campaign trail, and we discuss whether or not he should drop out of the race.
–The trial of Amber Guyger for the killing of Botham Jean is over, with the former Dallas police officer being sentenced to 10 years, with the possibility for parole in 5. But Jason was moved by the act of true humanity and forgiveness on display from the Jean family, and wishes the more sanctimonious among us could take a lesson from it.
–Bobby showed Jason the Sandy Hook Promise “back to school” commercial that debuted a couple weeks back, and we discuss whether ads like this, as well as the “active shooter drills” going on in American schools do far more harm than good.
–We end the show with a report and video of a UFO sighting in North Carolina, and break down the likeliest explanations. Is it aliens? Or flares?

**SFR 502: An Uplifting Ending** Sep 30, 2019
–SFR is here again, and we’ve recorded for back to back weeks for the first time in what feels like months. But the more things change, the more they stay the same. Bobby holding a kid again.
–Okay, we can’t ignore it. The Trump impeachment inquiry is underway. We recap the basics of the story, and hope most everyone can at least agree that what the president did was wrong. But, should he be removed from office over it? Was the act severe enough (at least based on what we know now) to nullify the results of an election? We give our answers, and we hope you’ll contact us to give us yours.
–We despise Cancel Culture, and yet it has reared its ugly head again in the case of Carson King, a young man who raised millions for a children’s hospital, only to have his good deed tarnished by a reporter who dug up a couple inappropriate tweets he made around 8 years ago, when he was a teenager.
–The Des Moines Register reporter who helped “cancel” Carson King, is now out of a job after his own bad tweets were dug up. He seems to think he is the real victim as well. Where does the madness end?!?
–Swedish teen Greta Thunberg becomes the face and voice of a climate movement, which is amazing. But Jason has serious concerns whenever adults task their children with the responsibility of being the leaders of a movement.
–We touch on how activists have to have more substance to their argument than just emotion. Know your facts, know your history, and at least know the science or mechanics behind what you’re being an activist for. Because your opponents probably will, and they’ll kick your ass if you aren’t careful.
–We end the show this week with a powerful and uplifting email from a listener who has been with us a lot longer than we ever knew. Listen, and hear Bobby and Jason not only be touched emotionally, but encouraged to keep evolving, growing, and challenging ourselves and others.

**SFR 501: Punching the Clown** Sep 23, 2019
–SFR is back in your life! And with another week away, there’s a lot to get into. Where to begin?
–The “Storm Area 51” event, that morphed into AlienStock, that morphed again into an all things extraterrestrial free for all happened over the weekend, and we give the scoop on what went down. Good news: it doesn’t appear anyone had to be vaporized for trying to see ‘dem aliens.
–Justin Trudeau had a bad week. Some old photos of the Candian PM donned in “brownface” were uncovered and he had to make a few apologies. Bobby laments that liberals focus on these kind of scandals. Jason says that, while he is pretty sure Trudeau is not a racist, he does enjoy when someone who positions themselves as ultra progressive and “woke” has to grovel before the politically correct elite.
–Benny Hinn is renouncing the prosperity gospel, in what Jason thinks is almost assuredly a new version of the same scam he has been pulling for years. Bobby warns to heed the words of James Randi about these “unsinkable rubber duckies.”
–Bobby attends a friend’s diaper party, and shoots an AR15! How did he, someone who admits he is uncomfortable with guns, feel about shooting the most despised firearm of the political left? Well, it sure sounds like he enjoyed it…
–We went to the theater to see IT and some creepy guy offers us his children. A weird little event we just had to share with you.
–Finally, we give our fully detailed review of IT: Chapter Two, and yes there are *spoilers* involved. Bottom line: neither of us liked this movie, and we left very disappointed. But we want to hear what you thoughts, so please let us know.

SFR 500: The End of the Beginning Sep 09, 2019

–It’s episode 500 of Strange Frequencies Radio, and we can’t believe it ourselves! But we’re glad to be together in-studio once again recording this milestone moment.
–How do we celebrate such a momentous event? By drinking something Jason didn’t even know existed until a month ago, and that Bobby has grown to actually like: White Claw!
–Why stop there? Next up, we each enjoy a cognac glass of straight fernet, which Bobby says reminds him of mint toothpaste, but Jason says tastes like Robitussin. Well, hey, you only record your 500th episode once.
–Bobby wants to take some to discuss how he has changed from the start of SFR until now, and he goes from a guy who believed in God and ghosts, to a guy not so sure about ghosts, but who sends his kids to a Catholic school.
–Jason, on the other hand, likes to think he is basically the same person. Just one who has shed some paranormal beliefs.
–We play the one EVP we have never been able to explain. The one that Jason thinks is interesting, but which keeps Bobby wondering “what if?”
–Looking around our humble basement studio full of “Bobby’s Oddities” and other paranormal books and curiosities, it dawns on Jason that there’s a part of each of our 500 episodes in every item down there. That the story of Strange Frequencies Radio is on the shelves all around us. That leads us to grabbing a few items off those shelves, and telling a few stories about them. Included: an original Ouija board, a book signed by an “original ghost hunter,” and a few monstrous footprints.
–This leads us down memory lane, and talking about our time long ago filming for a self-produced documentary called SItuation: Paranormal that unfortunately never saw the light of day. One of the highlights of filming was our interactions with a person we feel was simply a self-deluded “psychic” whose so-called powers totally dissolved under scrutiny. Wait until you hear this.
–Bobby gives a quick review of the movie version of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
–We end this episode with a couple recommendations: First, Bobby recommends the Spooked podcast if you like paranormal stories, and Jason, ever the crime nut, recommends Chase Darkness With Me by Billy Jensen.

–SFR kicks off with Bobby crunching on sea weed, and Jason trying to make sense of the White Claw craze. Spoiler: He never does.
–Bobby makes Jason the first invitation to his Oktoberfest party.
–A South Carolina coroner kills the rumor that Dairy Queen was serving human meat in their burgers.
–Bobby gives a review of the Impossible Whopper!
–Jason does a public service of his own, by watching Ghost Hunters so you don’t have to! He catches up on some old episodes and one particular cast member, and then reviews the new episode.
–Okay, let’s finally talk about the Epstein suicide, and the many conspiracy theories that have surrounded it.
–Bobby is hyped about new Star Wars streaming programs, and makes three prediction possibilities for the upcoming film. Meanwhile, Jason is all about the Breaking Bad movie coming soon to Netflix.

SFR 498: Full Circle Aug 19, 2019

–It was a dark and stormy Sunday night, and Jason and Bobby are recording SFR through power outages aplenty. Listen as they have to reset the program multiple times.
–Ghost hunters is about to come back and Jason has set his DVR, all the while lamenting that SFR feels, in some way, as if it has come full circle.
–One show we are looking forward to, however, is the Nick Frost and Simon Pegg series Truth Seekers, a comedic send up of paranormal investigation shows. Sounds fun!
–Bobby and Jason plan to attend the Toledo Bigfoot & Paranormal conference, which is just a short walk up the street from where Bobby lives. It’s only $10, and is apparently just planned for 5 hours. Plus, we have a couple buds potentially coming in to visit!
–IT Chapter Two is coming up faster than we thought.
–The streaming wars are heating up, and how we watch television is rapidly changing.
–Neighbors aren’t always so neighborly, Jason says, while recounting times he has helped neighbors out only to to be kind of screwed over in return. Bobby tells a story about a friend who wants to rip off Nike.
–Flashback to a couple Fridays ago, as Bobby’s son Gino becomes Mr. Glass. An incredible story.
–Jason showed up at the annual pig roast, and makes an amazing escape that baffles everyone.
–The show ends with Bobby tripping balls.
