Show notes
This week, Da7e can’t make the podcast because of cinema, so your other three hosts convene to talk about the Zach Cregger horror-comedy that’s gnawing on the American Box Office this week. But, before that, a check in with Matt Patches who has some thoughts about movies and nudes (separate topics) after coming home from France, and some more catch up if you haven’t joined the Fitwarriors in the Vulture Movie League quite yet.

Show notes
Katey and David are home from TIFF with a not-numbered episode of the podcast where they discuss festival and family woes, getting screeners for festival movies versus seeing them in a theater, and the newest buzzy festival movies like The Debut,Elsinore, Possible Love, and Everytime. They also weigh in on Wild Horse Nine, Ink, and the strange, ongoing festival phenomenon of movies arriving with huge expectations and leaving with even bigger questions.
556 – Lanterns, Onslaught, and Coyote Vs. Acme
Sep 04, 2026
Show notes
This week, the podcast has its four hosts again, at least for one segment on the first three episodes of HBO’s Lanterns. Then, after David has to run, Da7e tries to explain the new movie Onslaught to Katey and Patches, then all three remaining hosts review Coyote Vs. Acme, a movie they actually got to see in theaters despite what we thought would happen when Warner Bros decided not to release it.
555 – GTA VI Hype, Making the Bed, Furious on Hulu
Aug 29, 2026
Show notes
This week, remaining podcast hosts Patches, Katey, and Da7e jump onto…Netflix…to watch…GTA VI….? What the hell was that? Then, Patches and Da7e debate just how big this game is going to be come November. Then, Katey has a sophisticate question for us about our bed-making habits. Finally, Furious is a show on Hulu where Emmy Rossum plays a traumatized FBI Agent tracking a female serial killer – did your hosts like it? The final episode of Season 1 debuts next week.
554 – Tony, New X-Men Cast, The End of Oak Street
Aug 21, 2026
Show notes
This week, we assure you David Ehrlich is returning to this podcast. In a return to some sort of format, you left reviews and sent e-mails but it still takes Katey, Patches, and Da7e a good 20 minutes to get started this week. When they do, Katey and Da7e weigh in on the perfectly cromulent Tony, Da7e wonders what (if anything) his cohosts think of the new X-Men Disney announced at their Disney convention, then Katey fills in the boys on the newest Amblin-throwback dinosaur movie in theaters – The End of Oak Street. Patches sneaks in a stealth Paw Patrol segment.
553 – The Last House, Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma
Aug 13, 2026
Show notes
This week, David can’t make it, but we have three hosts and three movies to review. First, Patches and Da7e dig into the Netflix sci-fi trapped-in-your-house movie The Last House (Spoilers!). then, Patches and Da7e revive some Republic City Dispatch talk to discuss Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, a movie streaming on Paramount Plus. Then, Katey rejoins the podcast to discuss Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma with Da7e. What are we, a movie podcast?

552 – Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Aug 05, 2026
Show notes
This week, whoops, there’s a new biggest movie in theaters and this one is setting records. Matt Patches and Katey Rich were unable to catch Spider-Man: Brand New Day in theaters, but Katey shows up to referee a discussion between Davids, one Ehrlich who did not like Brand New Day as much as one Da7e who thought it’s a new kind of Spider-Man installment that points towards some good tidings in Marvel’s immediate future. Will they return next week with a single topic show? Not intentionally, but don’t count us out.
This week, everyone is back in the War Room and not on vacation with multiple children and everyone has seen The Odyssey! We figured it was about time that we devoted an episode of one of TIME Magazine’s Best Podcasts of All Time to this all-timer cinematic experience (that nevertheless has nitpicks our hosts will nitpick). That’s all we had to talk about to fill a whole episode. MAKE SURE YOU’VE SEEN THE ODYSSEY FIRST IF YOU CARE ABOUT SPOILERS.

550 – The 1976 50th Anniversary Quell
Jul 17, 2026
Show notes
AKA NONE OF US ARE FIFTY YET BUT ALL THESE MOVIES ARE.
It’s another Fighting in The War Room Quarter Quell!
For this edition of a FITWR Quarter Quell, each host picked a movie that was released 50 years go in 1976 and was NOT one of the super popular ones (no Network, no Rocky). Katey finally watches the Barbra Streisand/Kris Kristofferson version of A Star is Born, Da7e caught up on a Sherlock Holmes movie he had never seen with The Seven-Per-Cent Solution, Patches picked the final Alfred Hitchcock film called Family Plot, and David exposes his cohosts to In Realm of the Senses .
549 – A Bad Year For Console Gaming, Minions and Monsters, The Invite
Jul 09, 2026
Show notes
This week, David can’t make it to the War Room, but is locked in with the rest of the hosts for next week’s QUARTER QUELL – 1976. On this episode, Da7e has questions for Patches about the no-good-very-bad news for the console gaming industry over the past couple of weeks. Then, Katey reports on Minions and Monsters, which sounds fun but is underperforming at the box office. Then, Katey and Da7e talk about The Invite, expanding to more theaters this weekend and though since they disclose the premise the trailer is hinting at, consider it LIGHT SPOILERS, I guess.
BACK NEXT WEEK WITH EPISODE 550, HE TYPES, JINXING THEM ALL.
