Stay ConnectedZealous Musician is a podcast that takes a closer look at the music we love.
For season one, we’ll dive into music from post-hardcore and emo bands like Thrice, Underoath, A Day to Remember – Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, and Copeland. Our focus will be on light music theory — even playing some ourselves — and rediscovering why we loved these bands so much in the first place.
This episode takes a closer look at a groundbreaking album in the world of post hardcore music: Son I Loved You At Your Darkest. Lets dive into their creative guitar riffs, moving lyrics, creative time signatures, and much more.

Piano-driven songs, catchy guitar riffs, jazzy drums, and beautiful soaring vocals... these are elements that make this very artistic band special. How can Copeland's music be so delicate and melodic, yet rock and roll at the same time? Come along for the ride and let's find out.

As we dive into the music from this nostalgic band, let's discover what the magic was made of, and why their music won our hearts. Their back and forth vocals were so catchy. Their emo/pop rock sound was a huge connection point to so many of us. Let's take a closer look at the music from TBS.

Dynamic isn't a strong enough word to describe the band Thrice. In the first episode of Zealous Musician, let's find out why. Heavy rock riffs, pretty melodic chord progressions, and meaningful lyrics are just a few of the musical elements of Thrice.
