Youth Ministry Embarrassment, Guilt, Shame, and Girl Scout Cookies Aug 09, 2022
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

This is an episode about Girl Scout cookies. It's also an episode about the real feelings many of your students are probably feeling, right now...
Zac and Chad get a little confused if this a phone or a podcast and maybe share a little too much, but there is a really important conversation that youth pastors should be having today.
    Embarrassment v. Guilt v. Shame
Are your students more afraid of being embarrassed more now than ever before?
    Embarrassment
The way that many of our students (and us) are feeling relating to the world around them.
    Guilt
Tied to actions that are based on internal moral/ethical standard.
    "I don't lie."
    Shame
Tied to actions that are based on an external moral/ethical standard.
    "Am I a liar?"
What are you thoughts and experiences with embarrassment, guilt, and shame as a youth minister? What are you students wrestling with the most?

More Momentum for Youth Ministry; or how you feel about it matters. Jul 18, 2022
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Momentum. It's a word that sparks or fizzles depending on what just went right (or wrong). It's the never-ending wash of waves on the seashore. It's Zac and Chad disagreeing on exactly how much time we could or should spend on this...
Mo' Momentum, it begs the question... when will it ever end?
The answer. Never, and yet, we find seasons, waves, moment(ums) of rest.
Yes, friends, rest is the reward of the work. Let's swim in that this episode...
This episode is part two of two in getting mo' momentum for your youth ministry. It starts in the pieces and processes that we can plan in advance and it ends with the kind of rest that allows you to have more for the next round, ride, wave of enthusiasm.
How did we do? Let us know and send us some feedback, via email zac@youthministrybooster.com to give us your thoughts on summer, momentum and on this episode of the podcast.

Every Message Demands A Response Art Of Preaching In Youth Ministry Part 3 Jun 29, 2022
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

What makes a sermon a sermon? Last week we talked about the necessity of text, THE TEXT. This episode we invite you to ask, "what's the response?" It's the now what of whatever was read and said. It's the impetus to action, the immediate and/or lifelong application. We believe every good sermon demands a response.
So let's ask about what you are asking the hearers to hear.
This episode is part 3 in the art of talking to teenagers. Chad and Zac investigate what it means to craft a message that is thoughtfully presented, biblically founded, and demanding of a response.
This is part 3 of 3 in our Art of Communicating To Students Series. Give us some feedback on IG or FB on how and where you will be teaching this summer.
Or send us some intel, email zac@youthministrybooster.com to give us your feedback on this episode or the podcast.

"Hurry up. Move. Get in to it!" These are probably all thoughts you have had while preaching and teaching to students and we are here to confirm that they are normal and it is right for us to "get into it" (the it being Scripture) as soon as it makes sense.
So let's talk about teaching and TEXT.
This episode is part 2 in the art of talking to teenagers. Chad and Zac unpack the idea of what it means to be "quick to the text" both in your preparation and your effectiveness of preaching and teaching.
This is part 2 of 3 in our Art of Communicating To Students Series. Give us some feedback on IG or FB on how and where you will be teaching this summer.
