On this episode Power to the Pleasers host, Vicki Smith interviews me about Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as Tapping or EFT.
I share how I was first introduced to EFT as a self care practice during a workshop for therapists who were helping community members following the 2012 Sandy Hook tragedy after 20 children and 6 staff were murdered in an elementary school. Needless to say this was a difficult time for our town and a challenging time for me as both a parent of young children and a therapist for local children and families.
I will share how EFT profoundly helped me in my own healing and management of anxiety. I will also share how it continues to help me in supporting my clients in counseling sessions and provides clients with an effective therapeutic tool they can use on their own.
Check out Vicki Smith's fantastic podcast, Power to the Pleasers. Listen wherever you find your podcasts or here: https://powertothepleasers.com/podcast/

Teen Anxiety: How to Recognize it, Provide Support and Avoid Pitfalls with Ann Colelman from Speaking of Teens Jul 02, 2024
    Show notes

    Send Lauren a text!

Get ready for a treat! This episode is from the podcast, Speaking of Teens, with host Ann Coleman. Ann interviewed me for her podcast and has kindly let me share it with all my zen friends. The following is an episode description:

Teenagers are experiencing anxiety today more than ever before. Yet, as a parent, you may have no idea what teen anxiety looks like or how to help your kid if you suspect they may have it. Teen anxiety doesn’t look like adult anxiety, and often teens and tweens don’t have enough self-awareness to even understand what they’re feeling. So, it falls on you to figure it out, give them the support they need and find the right kind of help for them.

On the show today is Lauren Wolfe, licensed professional counselor, and host of the Your Zen Friend podcast. She works with kids, teens, and their families when anxiety makes life difficult. She explains what teen anxiety looks like and what should do (and shouldn’t do) to help your teen if they’re living with anxiety.

Speaking of Teens is a fantastic podcast that focuses on delivering up to date, science-based information, news and advice to help you better understand, relate to, and parent your teen…without the conflict. So when you’re done with this episode go listen to Speaking of Teens! You can find it on Apple, Spotify, wherever you listen to podcasts or here: https://speakingofteens.com/podcast/
