Today’s Bible Verse: “Having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.” — Colossians 2:14
Colossians 2:14 gives us a vivid image of what Jesus accomplished at the cross. Every charge against us—every failure, every sin—stood as a record we could never clear. But instead of leaving us condemned, Christ took that record and nailed it to the cross.

Today’s Bible Verse: “For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” — 1 Corinthians 15:21–22
1 Corinthians 15:21–22 lays out the contrast that defines the gospel: Adam and Christ. Through Adam, sin entered the world, and with it came death. But through Jesus, something greater has come—resurrection and life.

Today’s Bible Verse: “This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.” — Acts 2:23
Acts 2:23 holds two realities side by side: human responsibility and God’s sovereign plan. Jesus’ crucifixion was carried out through human sin and injustice, yet it was not outside of God’s control. It was part of His deliberate and redemptive purpose.

Today’s Bible Verse: “As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him.” — Luke 24:15–16
Luke 24:15–16 captures a quiet but powerful resurrection moment. Two disciples are walking away from Jerusalem, confused and discouraged, trying to make sense of everything that had happened. In the middle of their conversation, Jesus joins them—but they don’t recognize Him.

Today’s Bible Verse: “Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.” — John 20:1
John 20:1 begins in darkness—literally and emotionally. Mary Magdalene comes to the tomb grieving, expecting death to have the final word. Instead, she finds the stone rolled away. Before she fully understands it, everything has already changed.

Today’s Bible Verse: “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” — 2 Corinthians 4:7
2 Corinthians 4:7 paints a powerful picture of what it means to carry the message of Christ. We are described as “jars of clay”—fragile, ordinary, and easily broken. Yet within us is something priceless: the treasure of God’s presence and power.

Today’s Bible Verse: “We rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” — Romans 5:3–4
Romans 5:3–4 offers a perspective that feels almost upside down—finding purpose in suffering. During Lent, as we reflect on the suffering of Christ, this passage invites us to consider how our own hardships can be part of God’s shaping work in us.

Today’s Bible Verse: “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” — Isaiah 53:5
Isaiah 53:5 is one of the clearest prophetic pictures of the suffering Messiah. Long before the crucifixion of Jesus, this passage described a Savior who would bear the weight of human sin and brokenness. The suffering described here was not random—it was redemptive.

Today’s Bible Verse: “When he had received the drink, Jesus said, ‘It is finished.’ With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” — John 19:30
John 19:30 records the final words of Jesus on the cross—“It is finished.” These words were not a cry of defeat but a declaration of completion. The mission He came to fulfill—bearing sin, offering redemption, and opening the way back to God—had been accomplished.

Today’s Bible Verse: “Jesus said, ‘My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.’” — John 18:36
John 18:36 records Jesus’ response to Pilate during His trial. While standing before earthly authority, Jesus makes a profound statement about the nature of His kingdom. His rule is not built on political power, force, or human systems—it comes from a different source entirely.
