Let Us Be Heard - Jean Smith Jun 24, 2020

In this episode CS interviews Jean Smith, a mother of 2, a strong female presence and a wonderful influence on the younger generation, especially within the young black community. We wanted to talk to Jean because we wanted to gain perspective about the things we simply do not know. What we do know is it's our job to know and learn and gain as much knowledge as possible to do more than just spread kindness. Bottom line is stated perfectly by Jean in this interview: "We have to work to be anti racist. We can love each other and we can be kind to each other because that’s what we’re supposed to do. But we have to do the work. We have to do the work from whatever seat we’re in." We feel called, and Jean has inspired both of us to do whatever we can to let everybody be heard.

A Slice of Heaven - Mandy Long Jun 17, 2020

This episode will go out to anybody who has ever lost a child. Soon after having their third beautiful baby boy, Mandy and Scott Long knew that something wasn't quite "right". After having two perfectly healthy boys already, they quickly learned that their life was never going to be the same this time around, or ever again. Although Crew's life was cut far too short, Mandy and her family are able to find beauty in his life even after death. It is truly inspiring, eye opening, and heartfelt. Tune in for a story of a mother's courage, a sweet child's bravery, and above all, a love with no bounds.

We want to use this podcast as a means to communicate how truly sad we both are with the current state of our country and by sharing with YOU that we know we can do better. We have to do better. Because if we don’t, then generation after generation to come will be going through the exact same thing we are today, and then we aren't doing our jobs to the best of our abilities. The Best Bits and Pieces - Tyler Decker May 13, 2020

On this episode CS interviews her baby cousin, Tyler. Tyler is 23 now, but as a teenager, he experienced more tragedies than most people or anyone will in their lifetime. In July 2014, when Tyler was just (17) he lost his brother Zach to a drug overdose, his cousin Shannon (CS's sister) in a murder/suicide, and just one month later, Tyler lost his friend to suicide. 5 years after those losses, he lost his brother's best friend, who was his friend turned big brother figure, too. That is A LOT for anyone to handle, let alone a young adult. But he handles it, and we can't wait for you to hear how!
